the book as predicted was cast in my general direction last night after serving it's purpose, I'm a few chapters into it and I'm finding it rather disappointing and rather like the final episode of a bad soap where they kill everyone's characters off. Lacks any of the charm of the earlier ones so far. if it doesn't get any better I'll be putting this one down.

Great movies -- Cheesy written books for Adults -- 6 was so draggy and 7 is just as bad -- both kids and wife loved them doh !

BUT anything that gets a midget to read 7 books in a row aint all bad

I sympathize with Tak -- had to buy two copies at midnight sans rain -- mine wont share either

but the movies are enjoyable and 5 was decent and worth the price ( hot fuzz comes out on dvd this weekend )-- and my eldest is reading the lord of rings -- so thier is a better outcome from all that waste of paper

I wonder who will be the first poster here to spoil the ending of the 7th book...And which mod will be the first to delete that post.

Harry is the final bagel in the chicken of Vaccumes and dougnuts(no sprinkles of course) he then marries his long forgetten dog of his youth, before it turns into a 1985 chevrolette stingray

seeing as I had a couple of days off from my toil, I read the thing through till the end. Without giving away the plot, and believe colleagues there are no major surprises, all the previous books have set the stage for the supposed "revelations," it's really rather disappointing with a very predictable dénoument and a pointless epilogue, and very confusing "action" scenes.

The only advantage I can see in Rowling writing it this way is that it makes it almost impossible to resurrect the tale, thank heavens.

Well, it look like the writer is taking up a detective/mystery next, to fleese even more money, or in Esq case, ginger beer.
