Vista Released
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.
so? you've been lauding the praises for DX10-enabled cards for over a year now, but neglected to mention until just that DX10 is Vista only! who would abandon a proven operating system for some new hardware, shiny graphics and an operating system that doesn't work?
ok, lots of people with more money than sense. but Vista is the new ME. maybe that one that comes after might be some good (Vienna ,is it called?)

But Taw, Vista does work. It works very well indeed. Even security-wise, is it any worse than XP? It has the same 'firewall' and that bizarre Defender widgit. Both x86 XP and Vista will support most good firewalls and AV will often work with x86 and x64 versions of both. (Though AVG demands you buy the full version if you want to use it on Vista x64.)
Simply usage-wise, it's a vast improvement over XP. They've streamlined a number of interface features and made it so much easier to use that I really notice the difference whenever I use XP again.
My 2GB of RAM and dual-core (2.13GHz) CPU ran Vista and every modern game on high settings (1280x1024) without complaint (the only exception being Supreme Commander - which nothing runs without complaint and hardly anything runs at all). I can't believe there are still people out there who only have 1GB of RAM and expect to play any game made after 2005.
Word on the grapevine is that Crysis is designed to run on Vista so it will run faster on Vista than it does on XP. I'm not entirely sure how or why that would be the case but that's what I heard.

but untill they've sorted out all the issues, and PCs come with 12GBs of ram and 16 Core processors

TeT, i don't want a more streamlined inteface. the things i have available to me in XP are what i use regularly. in Vista, every time i want to use them i need "administrator permission" when i'm using the only account on the computer.
how has the interface been improved? its all identical but transparent and shiny.
we're not complaining about the Security, sure, its the same as that in XP (which is worthless, but thats another discussion) the fact is, Vista, so far is exactly the same as XP, with annoying gimmicks like Aero, hardware-destroying services like Prefetch and DX10.
sorta like 98se --> ME. same OS, new wrapper.
a word in Edgewise on Crysis. i've been beta-ing it (AWESOME MULTIPLAYER) the official word is that it will offer identical performance in both XP and Vista in Multiplayer, except in "DX10-Only" servers, where all players must be running vista and a DX10 native card, where there is much more intensive Physics. (destroyable foliage and such)
in the Single player, vista offers no benefits as far as i can tell (full physics available, in other words)
