What is it with all of the spam lately?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

some ideas -
adaptive junk filters - i use them in thunderbird and i've never had a false-flagging on junk.
ISP call in's - if you can track a spammer to their true IP address, sending complaints may be an effective way of hindering their operations. I do this with new junk mail that gets past my filters - if the ISP found in the header is AT&T or another large firm than i know my complaint might be listened to, since they have a strict no-spam policy and dedicated addresses for complaints
hire bounty hunters - $1500-3000 per dismembered spammer's hand

If you just tried to view the anti-spam (comment) image (within the last couple hours), I was playing with some different code options after reading some of the links on the bottom of this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha.

Try it again now, and let me know if it is extremely unusable - I have the source code, and can make as many changes as necessary.

I have read about placing logic and/or simple math questions as well as image recognition (is it a cow, or a bird...). Lots of options to think about.

Based on Tors Denneti Source IPs, I just made an assumption as to his location, but could be way off... and I felt quite safe in the country I believe he is posting from - not many visible 10 gallon hats.

@Esqui: Not quite, they still have to put two and two together.

@Dawg: Don't look at me, it just seems to go where ever I am. Terrible aflliction really.

Anyway, there is a difference between spam and cobblers.
