the first game I ever played, or the first computer game I ever played, excluding arcade games? whilst you implied the latter, you didn't specifically exclude it and the terms of your question are therefore ambiguous.
the first game that i remember playing was probably Snap or something with coloured blocks iirc, but the first computer game I ever played was a MagnaVox AF Pong! console that my dad got for me Christmas in 1977. The silly old duffer frazzed the telly analogue tuning trying to set it up for over an hour, and thus we had to watch the Queen's Speech and the Bond film on a grainy b/w Bush portable borrowed off the neighbours. I fixed it later that day when my dad was out, taking my great aunt Doris home, and he was most taken aback to find me and brother happily batting away at 2-player Pong!
it was of course a total p.o.s. but it kept us entertained for ages, although the old man moaned his bag off every time we got it out because he refused to accept that we were able to set it up in seconds while he just bodged everything up. I kept it for years, until finally my mum threw it out in a clearout when she moved house. Shame, they're worth a mint now.
