Chimaeras are splices not mutations, so yes they can be.

Well I must admit that the possible nuclear fallout *has* given my furry coat a nice and "natural" shine, but that may simply be due to my excellent grooming habits coupled with my use of organic and sulfate-free hair (fur) products. As for "mutant chimaerae" well, some people call us "aberrations", but we call it evolution. Viva survival of the fittest, etc!

And exactly what kind of niche do you fill? Your diet consists solely of Ginger Beer so it's unlikely you interact with any ecosystems. (Not that there are any left, mind).

Evolution? No. Will Wright after a few too many beers? Yes.

I have an idea, oh Most Exalted One. Why don't we contact the mutant chimeras and try to reach a diplomatic agreement. We can recruit them into the ever growing ranks of our army! And then we shall rain terror down upon the heathens in Tawakalnistan!

(That also reminded me of that one thread however many years ago, that had people telling scary stories or experiences. I remember Taw's had something to do about an Imp (or evil Midget) that he would run into in his room that he was renting at a crazy lady's house. Kept me up the hwole night , I was so scared)
