Windows "Longhorn" virus already?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Alpha that's not it. Mac has a much better visual and interactive aesthetic than Windblows. Plus the computers are more user friendly.

the only reson that the macs have not been "publicly " hacked is because they are not as widely dispersed. The Government dont use macs yet but once they do I'm sure that hackers will start to more actively target mac OS's. But it is only time before there will be reports of mac hacks. It is a shame thou that this is fact and not maybe
As for the reports of the hacks of the "longhorn" OS. I am not at all surprise that this info was leaked to the public. Microsoft is the big sucess and as such it is hated by many people, and while I am not impressed by many of the pratices of the company ( shadow monopoly anyone?) I do use the XP OS and will continue to use it. I have had no trouble will solveing all of the problems I have faced since I built my computer. And as one friend put it I have had as many problems in one year as most people do in five lol, and I am someone who didnt know a thing about computers when I bought the motherboard lol !!

Blessed Be to all those that still dream of the flight to the stars.

From TFA...

Five proof-of-concept viruses that target Monad, the next version of Microsoft's command prompt...
Am I the only one who finds that (Monad) hilarious? WTF is a "Monad" anyway? Is it like a "mesticle"? Movary?

Reports of Vista virus rebutted

looks like it may not be true, or at least as bad as people make it out to be.

Poor Microsoft. Their products are meant to be user friendly, but end up like this:

erm..cap'n picard..no,let microsoft feel pain!!!!As we all do when they release bugged programs just so we have to upgrade in a year and give em more cash

*at this point 4 large goons with "I love Bill Gates" bursts into my house and thwack me with baseball bats*

and like a phoenix i'll return from the ashes....with the help of the re-spawn key

You upgrade your OS system every year? What are you running? How long have you had your computer? How many versions of windows do you own?

Please do answer this Pheonix, as I am genuinely interested. Also please add what your comp is/whether it was bought "as is" - or whether you bought it in parts and built it yourself (and therefore installing the OS yourself).
Don't forget to add which versions of windows you have owned, and exactly what the problems that you experienced were. Please outline exactly why these problems caused you to have to upgrade your windows install as well.

Hey Phoenix what you jsut described is closer to mac then windows.

Erm..guys..twas a joke, but anyway..I've owned Windows 3.1,95,98,2000,ME and now XP,this PC was built on the cheap (it is a celeron after all )
But as to my post it was a joke going back to the thing i read once that Microsoft delibretley allow bugs in their programs.

but for the last time!It was a JOKE!lol

Edit - DS9, please uncheck the Add Sig box after posting in a thread.

Pheonix, I was just trying to point out that around 90% of naysayers simply say it because either:

A) Someone else said it and they are copying what they say, even though they have never experienced any problems

They jump on bandwagons.

Okay, both are pretty much the same, but reading your post - it turns out to be another one where someone is saying something simply because they heard it elsewhere. It sounded like a statement you made from experience - hence why I questioned it. As it is, it isn't.

Either way, don't worry - I am sure there are some whom could list issues

I had windows delete windows installer and regedit once, and it decided that my account, which was the only one and had admin rights, couldn't install programs any more, even after I got windows installer back. But other than that, in 6 or so years of using a computer I've never had any problems with windows.

Post Wed Aug 10, 2005 4:03 pm

The problems truly vary person to person. I've never had a problem with a Mac system but have had several with Windows--and others have experienced the opposite, I'm sure.

What I've heard from computer-experienced people around me tends to favour Macs as the superior systems. But that truly still does not determine anything as fact.

Aravis wishes his XP was solid, but slowly my computer got infected with stuff thats buried so deep. Out of 17, only 5 were shooken off when I changed their registry entry to "gg noobs" as opposed to the directory and command lines. The rest are so far damn buried that I can't even access this user's folder in the Documents and Setting from any other user. Next time I buy a computer I'm getting massive protection so I can stay atleast semi fast. Norton can't do jack about the 15... I've tried to delete and it failed. I'm going to run another scan while I go eat dinner and see if I can just exclude....Not even sure if that does anything. Sad thing is, I'm not getting a new computer for awhile, mines still around the high-end of the medium range. 2.8 ghz, radeon 9800 pro, 512 ram... I'm thinking about just reformatting and hoping that it will kill everything. Then I just hope that the reinstall disc that it came with will work when its nice and clean.

Well, reformating is the garenteed way of getting rid of bugs and all. Then put protection on before you connect to the internet and then becareful of what you download.
