What I objected to in Team America was the horribly gratuitous swearing. Not that I myself have a problem with it, but Trey and Matt want to draw people to the movie, not push them away. With Bigger, Longer, and Uncut the case is different. Swearing was part of the political point of the movie. In Team America it just was out of place, and detracted from the political point as opposed to supporting it.
South Park admittedly can go overboard. But that's part of what makes it so hilarious (for example, in the first season Big Gay Al's zoo)
The Jesus vs. Santa Claus thing is just mindless fun, a five minute, completely random (but hilarious, at least in my warped view) sketch. And actually the episode that sparked South Park as a tv series.
