This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I wish I learned this stuff in grade school (Foreign languag

I'm currently enjoying my summer waking up at 7 am every morning in order to dive into the wonderful world of spanish (curse you general education requirements!)

I have two semesters left to go in spanish after this summer session i still need to complete in order to graduate on time (in 2007).

Luckily for myself, I've already taken 3 years back when I was in High School, so things are flowing fairly smoothly.

This isn't so much of a discussion as it is a rant. But I do wish I was forced to take all this foreign language when I couldn't do anything about it, i.e. when I was younger. To the nine hells with this choosing or not choosing foreign language when you reach secondary or post secondary. If i was forced to learn spanish when I was younger I wouldn't NEED to be taking it now. I'd already have my fourth year equivalency.

It's like extracurriculars. I had (parents insisted/demanded) to participate in everything under the sun from music to running a leather ball to the opposite side of a field, only to have to do it again 5 minutes later.

Of course, now I realize that extracurriculars look really good on applications and stuff for college, jobs, whatnot.

Same for language. Heck! If i took language when I was 6 i could have learned six or seven by now and become a spy by now with lots of beautiful women, fast cars, cool gadgets...and so on.

Blah, I'm just grumpy because I have to wake up at 7 tomorrow morning....

Having youth on your side, does give an edge. I have seen 3 and 4 year olds picking it up in a heart beat as if they always knew it.

If the 3 or 4 year older where in CA,USA they prolly always knew it

Ha, didn't even think of that, good point

From personal experience, youth isn't all that big a help that its hyped up to be. Kids taught French at the age of 6 learn it as well as those taught French at the age of 13 (that is to say, badly. Really badly.)

And no one crack any frog jokes or I shall smite the next person that comes into view.

Maybe there is little difference between a 6-year-old and a 13-year-old learning a language, but there is a huge difference between a 3-year-old and a 13-year-old learning a language. Toddlers and infants learn to speak their native language mainly from being around it all day. If 13-year-olds were to be around another language all day, I doubt they would learn the language nearly as quickly as the younger children.

Oh, and for Wilde: How does a frog feel when he gets in a car crash?
Unhoppy.

Hahahaha...haha...ha...that really wasn't funny.
