Here we go again. Need Help

Hello everyone. It is I, dangerprone Jagged once again here to procure everyone's assistance in getting my computer out of a jam. I have recently aquired internet capabilities for my computer once again. Of course I didin't have any software to protect my computer from that annoying spyware and adware (no viruses....yet). After awhile I started getting annoying pop-ups so I went and got myself Ad-aware again and removed the problems (which the main one is VX2). They came back so i removed them again and got to downloading Winodws Sevice Pack 2. The problems still came back yet again and I got Firefox. They were still there and today I went and get ZoneAlarm and the problems won't stay down. I'll remove them and 10 seconds later they'll come back. Help please!

I would do a reformat of your hard drive, install windows, and all the protection programs before going on-line. It would then protect you. Its easyer this way and start clean. Just my 2cents worth.

burn the SP2 installer to a CD. Format and install, then install SP2 before you connect to the internet, along with antivirus.

Spybot: Seak and Destroy
Adaware

Use em daily.

I had this same problem, I accidntally click one of those "Allow to Download?" grey boxes. It gave me a virus, that loaded 4 kinds of spyware and 10 kinds of adware onto my drive. I got spybot and adaware off of komando.com, also try the free windows one, cleans your registry right up. Cheers!

Sounds more like you need to help yourself am affraid

Zone Alarm
AVG Free (Anti Virus)
Spy Bot
Ad Adware
MS has their own one as well - try that.

If you had access to the net, and didn't bother installing any protection first - then are you suprised. Since you say your back again asking for help, you obviously have trouble learning. Take it on board this time then

ask your floppy-eared rabbit leader for assistance; it's not like he's exactly busy at he moment! ah, i see! your hoppity master has not taught you well, his powers are weak; you should have learnt from your Mullah, but you wouldn't submit to the way and thus found yourself in this predicament.

its been so long in the shadows its gone blind

*sigh* Oh well I can't seem to get rid of the problem, but it's rarely becoming an annoyance now and the MS anit-spyware and ZoneAlarm are doing a good job of alerting me when the things try to break thre my defensive grid. This is only because re-formatting my hard-drive just doesn't seem very appealing at the moment. I mean I don't want to go through Halo on hard again, and I'd ahve to restart Freelancer. I'd have to remake all the nice mods I made in NWN along with the characters. Then I'd have to re-download Ragnarok Online again, that takes a good portion of time. Now you're probably saying "IDIOT! Just backup your files" but I think you need the ability to burn cds on your computer for that, and my poor Dell Inspiron 2400 just doesn't deliver.

*Sighs and shakes head from position deep in TLR's shadows but refuses plaintive pleas to emerge*

We have shadows? i thought stinger turned the floodlights on...

Well, you could at least ask NICELY for a friends burner, or better yet, buy another hard drive and dump all your needed stuff onto that (Failing that, ask your firend NICELY if you can borrow his computer for some temporary network storage, you have a network card, right?), apart from that, i cant reall think of much other than uploading all your stuff to an online Datastore, but even im not that nuts, and im pretty nuts!

A note on anothers sugjestion, buy a CD burner, external that is. They are very cheap. I picked up a DVD version for $119 a year ago myself.

Poor Jagged (note the sarcasm), sounds like your being beat on fairly thoroughly.

most games freelancer and halo included have save files for mp and sp ( i know u know this ) just borrow someones flash drive or mp3 player dump ur stuff and reload. you know you have too so "Just Do It" (copy right Nike).

a messy system is not anyone's friend and if a generic host process travels from u to one of us you may have fewer friends ( said as nicley as possible).
