This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Well, unless you wrote several gigs worth of stuff in that 200+ hours - then you should have backed up irreplacable work at least. Its not necessary to back up games, and downloadable material. You don't need backups of each 1-2Gb game you have installed - because you have the disks. If its movies, I use a 2nd HDD to store them instead... so they are relatively safe. Music - I burn it to CD and also store it on my 2nd HDD.
However, they are all recoverable.

My work, however, I keep on CDs and on my own website. I have yet to write anything (program, spreadsheets or anything else) that exceeds a CD when all combined - so if your 200+ hours of work was artwork, school work, projects etc - then its your own fault for not keeping a backup. Everything else is replaceable with some downloading.

That is what a backup is - not keeping extra copies of stuff that can be obtained again in a few hours - but work that is NOT replicable that easily.

Burn your downloads to CD or DVD's so you don't have to redownload them. Keekly backups of Data to a disk is good, if it is vital. There is always the option of using a second hard drive for pure storage and back ups. I do. A 40 Gb serves as mine.

Not true, I regularly backup over 600 gigs of data every few weeks.
What do I use? External hard drives...they work like a charm.

Other then that, the new duel layered DVDs are pretty good for backup as well.

Maxtor One-Touch, to name but one; lack of space is no excuse these days. I do a full back-up every week and my storage is big enough to hold the Graf Zeppelin!

your computer is a steaming heap of rubble, Wolfy, that barely manages to boot up.
