A small question on politics

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

A small question on politics

Umm, this is kind of embarrassing but can someone please tell me if politics should be treated as a singular or plural noun? I've seen it used both ways and the two dictionaries I used where as clear as a Shakespearian simile ().

If any mods think the innuendo is a little too strong in this thread, I'll delete it. But I would like an answer. (Edit: Please )

for the most part it depends on the context, it can be both ways, for example:

"He won the election due to a successful negative-ad campaign, that's politics"

Here it is singular " that is politics" that are politics wouldnt sound correct.

"The politics involved in running for president are complicated"

here the "are" refers to politics, saying "the politics is complicated" just sounds wierd...

thats my two cents, hope it helps
