This subject has been debated a great deal here on TLR. I for one, am a fan of SG1, but not Atlantis, probably because I missed the pilot episode. I'm not sure why I enjoy SG1 so much. The sensible part of my brain tells me thats its just another bad sci-fi show with recylced plot lines that were never any good to begin with. And, as Taw would say, the show really should have been named Macguyver SG-1. Yet somehow, I enjoy it. Even though it has nearly 50% more commercials per hour (at least where I watch it) I still enjoy it. Perhaps its just the scripts for the characters, where there's always at least one (Macguyver or Maj. Shepard) that talks big and seems to shout "Screw you!" to the world with everything they say. So in short, I like SG-1, but I'm not sure why. I would probably be one of the few that would consider buying the video game (were one ever made.) So there you go.

They'll make a game for anything these days. In any case, I do enjoy SG-1. Somehow, Atlantis does not seem quite as good...

I only watch atlantis cos one McKay looks like a guy i knew in high school.

I don't watch Atlantis because it's even more a complete waste of electricity than the Macguyveresque pap that spawned it.

the film had many good qualities most if not all of which were rapidly lost by the ever-declining series. seeing as Nerdgate has as its executive producer none other than Macguyver himself, it was only to be expected. OK theres the odd good episode with big spaceships and battles but the characters are dull dull dull, and in Paplantis theyre so wooden they could be trees.

mind you I could do with seeing a lot more of that leather Tokra chick or any sexy Gouald villainess (now I was glued to the Nyertii episodes)

sorry Atlantis just puts me to sleep if its winding me up with its awfulness.

I'd say I'm a fairly moderate fan. I'll watch an episode if it happens to be on, but I havn't begun downloading entire series over Bittorrent, as I did with South Park.

I dunno, occasionly I'll wince at a particuarly poor bit of dialogue or random plot points, but I find it vaguely enjoyable. Kinda like Mcdonalds for the soul, enjoyable now, but I'll probably regret it later. Or even better, it needs to be done in moderation.

Edit: Oh, and I despise Atlantis. Because it is bad.

i like it, but i pretty much have to face the fact that, as it is a series, the Atlantis team will never defeat the (forgot the name of thos things) and they will never get back to earth

actually i belive the atlantis team will defeat the wraith eventially but then anouther enemy will come up

as you should know (if you watch it on scifi, instead of some of those other channels that are a season behind) that in the last episode (wait, no 3 episodes ago) they defeated the guauld, the replicaters, anubus, and that...omadasala...acended...ancient...person...thing

and more, all in one episode, but ive heard (on gateworld) things about a new more powerful enemy (as with all TV shows when they get rid of one)

my opinios on atlantis are that, the places look cool, the wraih arent that new an idea, the geni are annoying, i like the guy on the last episode (whos dead) who thought all their problems could be solved with a couple a' nukes (im guilty of that myself) , we all love to hate mckay, shepards not as funny ar o'neil, tela will never be as hot as carter, and...and...thats all i have to say for now

ps: at the end of the last atlantis episode i belive he will not die, i have my own theroy that i belive is probly correct but i wont say it here for spoiler reasons
