I am Swiss and I am a pacifist. But as you might know every male Swiss has to join the army (and this for up to 12 years, every year three weeks). So I had to join the army too but for a military service without any weapon. In our brigade we were two guys without a weapon.
One day there was the so-called final inspection and a Swiss two-star-general was controlling every single soldier. At the end of a long row he came to the two soldiers without weapon. He asked me *imagine looouud and haaaarrsh voice*:
"Where is YOUR Weapon ?!!!?!" - "Divisionär (that's his grade in Swiss army) I do not have a weapon, I am an unarmed soldier because of ...." He interrupted me: "Off course you have a weapon, EVERY soldier has a weapon".
Me- - confused: "No Sir, there are excepti...." - "NOOOUUU - there are NO exceptions !!!" - "Sorry Sir, I do not understand. What do you mean ?"
Then he said - and it was NOT meant to be a joke: " Show me your Swiss Army Knive".
And indeed, even pacifist zazie was armed then ....
