Is it real, or is it fake?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

What people won't do to get into your computer. *Shakes head* This is why i get it straight from the horses mouth.

Warning over fake Windows update

Yep, It's a sick world, I just live here!

sick? its hardly sick. tubgirl is sick, this is just...silly.
anyone who sends virii through email (im looking at you jezabel) is just silly and anyone who has the sense to think that just because someone SAYS theyre microsoft doesnt mean they are, and that im using a pirated version of windows ANYWAY, beside the fact that there's no way MS could know my personal email address, and then OPENS and installs an update FROM this email, is just laughable.
If you're in charge of your computer, you need to have the common sense and net-smarts to play online safe.

believe it or not, my old manager in my last job (that crappy support one) actually opened one of those up and trashed several workgroups as a result before I managed to stop the damage. Sadly despite my warning him several times about spoof emails, he already engaged upon his bungling before I got in. yet this twonk earned twice as much as me and got all the perks. typical.

(I am also kidding)

It still amazes me how many people still fall for phishing scams.

Hacking should be an offence punishable by death. Godammit it pisses me off. It forces me to have a firewall which it's favourite job is to dramatically slow down any uploads, downloads or games connectivity. And I'm not joking, if people would be threatened with something like that they might think about it before they hack

You are digging for the answers, Until your fingers bleed,
To satisfy the hunger, To satiate the need.
They feed you on the guilt, To keep you humble and low,
Some man and myth they made up, A thousand years ago.

They cant get into your computer unless you got somethin in there tellin them your there (trojan or something like an FTP service that they can get into) so if you are carefull bout what you DL you can live without firewall. So if you play it safe you can live without one. Also an advanced hacker can get through firewall easy its a Psychological thing for the user. And an advanced hacker doesnt need a trojan to get on your comp and mess things up. So either way you can get screwed its either pay $50 for protection that doesnt work and slow everything down or not use any and play it safe. Either way chances are about the same.

Hmm...wouldnt do much damage if anyone got into my computer...got nothing to hide except plans to take over the world adn erm stuff like that.

People are weird..I still dunno why they would want to do stuff like this

Well the hacking community is HUGE and people gain prestige for hitting targets. so they go to see what they can do. And if you ever hit remember password it stores it encrypted in cookies but... someone can get them out and unencrypte and get credit card numbers and passwords. Or they can target outlook and gather millions of email addys and sell to spammers.

*Steps from shadows* Bah, that's nothing new. There have been many such emails appearing to have come from everything from MS, Symantec, and Macafee, to Zone Labs. I'm with Boscoe; only a fool would fall for that (no offence to any fools reading this ) *Returns to shadows*
