How did you pick your screen name?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

As for me, i'm from england so "Bretonian". But i wanted something longer like a first name and Bret goes well with Bretonian so hence the name...

One day while cleaning out my closet I opened a box and found TONS (like a good 4 or 5 dozen) of the silverfish insect crawling everywhere. I freaked out.

I'm secure in my masculinity, so I'm not ashamed to say that during that incident I screamed like a six year old girl

Anyways, seeing as that is one of the more traumatizing moments in my life, from then on my nickname was "Silverfish." However, most of the time that name is taken already for who knows what reason, perhaps other instances like mine?

So I decided to pay homage to Lynyrd Skynyrd

EDIT: Here's a silverfish. *shudder*

Anyone rememeber X-Wing Aliiance on PC?

The main character in that was called Ace Azzamean.

(Would have just used Ace but apparantly someone already has that...)

esrb can go shove itas far as were concerned

Post Thu Mar 31, 2005 3:30 pm

Well beta testing takes alot of work you have to beat the game about 40 times ina row and then write down every single thing that either went wrong or glitched or odd. I know someone off another forum who beta'd a game and he said he would never do it again. And then I was talking to a guy whos freidn beta tested Half Life 2 and got so sick of the game he didnt even wanna buy it.

Arania - The name of the planet that i live on. total running time is about 6 years now...
Ive had three different extensions tacked onto that over the ages: - Revisited (After i had a month time off from TLR to go on holiday), - The Emperor (In light of my Governmental position in Arania), and my current - PFY, in light of my expertise in computing fields (Read the BOfH to understand)

Actualy i have been considering changing mine....

I've always been Argh. I've had handles since... gosh... um... since before ICQ existed- I started with Mosaic, Hotline and email, but I'm not quite old enough to have been involved with BBSs- I wasn't quite nerdy enough to stare at a non-graphical interface for very long, even to get pirated software.

I picked the handle when I joined my first game team (a long-dead massively-multiplayer RPG project) because the Internet is both the greatest thing since human beings first figured out fire... and it's also the most annoying thing since nerve gas.

I have a severe love/hate relationship with technology, and with the societies that form on the Internet, which are completely unnatural and often contradictory to our "RL" cultures. I've been on the Web since ... before people were calling it that, back when Yahoo didn't exist, let alone all of the crap we have now... so I've seen a lot've interesting things, and been a part of some of them.

The thing that keeps striking me, over and over again over the years, is how little has changed- my handle makes as much sense now as it did in 1997.

Technology keeps promising to be more reliable and more powerful- and it is. But new things constantly come out that break that technology, the more-and-more-powerful tools have interfaces that require longer and longer time periods to master, and most ordinary folks are left hanging.

It's getting to the point these days, where I wonder if soon I'll be unable to make mods any more, because my skills as an artist, programmer, designer, etc., will not be enough- it'll require a team of brilliant professionals to get anything done. I can't afford to spend the time or mental energy it takes to get to the professional level in any one of these areas, let alone all of them- I still have to work, eat, sleep, and have a social life

At any rate, enough philosophy. My point is that Argh is a sound one makes when one is terribly frustrated with obtuseness... and I think it's still appropriate as my nickname.

Mine comes from a book - see this review for details: http://home.golden.net/~csp/cd/reviews/ ... orical.htm

I always did like the engineer-admiral motif of the character, coupled with the odd-corner aspect of his day-to-day mission. It's similar to the way I know some chemical engineering, but my primary interest is in a rather obscure corner of nuclear science.

well for the longest time i was "Zerooza" which started with playing Command and Conquer online and needing a name, being young i tried "Zero" clueless as to that being a popular name silly me... so i typed "zero" hit the o again and then the rest was history, a few months ago i got sick of it, i saw a really good picture of a fallen angel, and was depressed, so it fit... the [GR was from a clan, cus if i remember Fallen_Angel was already taken here, sorry to whoever had it first.... so yeah clan lasted for about a week, the week i made my login name =P so now im stuck with it... oooooh well, i'll survive
