Bloom.....err...Bond! James Bond
Here is the meat of the story though:
Orlando Bloom is set to play a young James Bond in a prequel to the long-running action movie series. The Pirates Of The Caribbean heart throb has confirmed that he is in talks to take the secret agent role in Young 007, Hello magazine has reported.
The actor told Sky Movies: "I love the idea, in principle, as he can be far more adventurous and do more stunts.
"This is as near as I think I will get to playing the grown-up James for the next 20 years."
The first Young 007 movie will be based on new novel Silverfin and will be set in the '30s. It will follow the young Bond from school at Eton, England, to his uncle's house in the west Highlands.
As for the other Bonds - i think that (apart from Lazenby) the actors reflect the era they played perfectly:
Connery - Suave, sophisticate - 60's gentleman, with good innuendos.
Moore - Sleazy, slimey - 70's - ridiculously great innuendos.
Dalton - Dark, disturbing, lack of compassion - late 80's, early 90's (to me represents the bond flemming wrote about)
Brosnan - Cool, headset, strong willed, compassionate but also resolute
Thats my take, I know people will disagree. As to my fav, Connery - but Brosnan comes right on his heels. I also think Dalton did a good job - he isn't my fav, but I think he represented the books character better than Moore.
