Erm

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Erm

Got a scenario for you guys and girls.

Got a man and a woman. The woman is a famous actress...call her Julie, now lets say she's from South Africa originally but lives in Hollywood now. Then she comes back to SA for some reason and meets this man...lets call him Luigi...the two fall in love. The girl has to return to Hollywood, but doesnt really want to, because she loves the man. But now, no matter how much she loves this man, she longs for Hollywood, her whole life is built on being a star. She stays, but the whole time Luigi feels guilty, he didnt ask her to stay, but he feels that he is spoiling her life.

Cansuch a relationship work?

please tell me she's on crack or a transsexual or a pole dancer and has been seeing his brother behind his back for 2 years and their love-child is actually his best friends, it's so Jerry Springer!

if not then sorry its really boring and no fun. celebrity relationships arent there to work, theyre there to fail to give the rest of us something to gloat over cos these people have more money and fame than we'll ever have so we LOVE IT when they fail.

no carla, i very much doubt it would work, she would end up heart broken as luigi would likely break up with her for the feelings of guilt over her staying.

if you think otherwise, stop watching daytime tv.

celebrity relationships arent there to work

He's right, sw, celebrities are built up to be torn down. And no, I don't think that could work, but then again what do I know about relationships?

Scenario #2: No, it won't. This is depressing, or maybe its the emo music i'm listening to.

Don't blame someone because of how badly they mess up, praise them by how they fix it.

lol

She's fictional. It s just a scenario I saw in a story... it is really stupid actually...but it got me curious...lets change the scenario then.

Say Julia loves her job, but she decides to stay at home not working to bake and clean the house or whatever. Luigi knows she doesnt like it and feels guilty because she is doing it. She is unhappy with staying at home, but does it because she wants to. He feels guilty but cant convince her to go back to word. She keeps missing it but tries her best to pretend she doesnt. Can it ever work.

Better?

Wouldnt work, no way

Er, if they're both too damned stupid to realize that NEITHER ONE OF THEM REALLY WANTS JULIA TO STAY HOME IN THE FIRST PLACE (!!!) then they don't deserve a successful relationship.

*sigh*

OK, let me think up yet another scenario...I'm not making myself understood tonight.

OK, the point in this is, Julia doesnt do something she really wants to because she loves Luigi...lets say what ever she wants to do is far away from where Luigi is, so she stays with Luigi and while she is very happy being with him she misses whatever she gave up to be with him. And I'm not repeating the rest.

But I guess I already got the answer that it would never work.

or the big bad L could move to hollywood if she is a actress seh can pay for it

Post Tue Mar 15, 2005 12:49 pm

What I don't get is why the girl feels the need to give everything up. Why can't she pursue her dreams while being given emotional support from the man she loves? To use the Hollywood example, why can't the two of them move to Hollywood together?

Edit: If it's the case that the guy is forcing the girl to stay then she should tell him to f*** the hell off. No one has the right to hold someone else "hostage" like that.

In that particular case, I have no idea...maybe she wants to stay in her home country.

The thing is it is impossible for her to persue her dreams and be with the man she loves. What I want this discussion to be about is if a relationship could work in such a situation..now matter who she is or whatever.

Post Tue Mar 15, 2005 12:54 pm

In that case as fully stated, n-n-nope

Post Tue Mar 15, 2005 12:58 pm

No it won't work, but that's not really cause for too much despair, imho. Unless you take seriously the notion that there's only one person in the world you can truly love (which is a really dumb idea), there's no reason to believe that the girl won't find an equally wonderful person elsewhere.
