Well, you're bright and open minded, right? Sounds like a good opportunity to try something else.

That, among other aspects, is what I meant by 'a lack of distance'. But why do you think you cannot tell them about your trouble?

Well the other stuff i have tasted and liked is jazz and blues and i can tell you not uplifting.... there are some good songs that arent depressing and are uplifting but i cant find them...

Post Fri Feb 25, 2005 6:45 pm

I said this on msn, and I'll say it again: if you're actually seriously feeling depressed, talk to someone about it. Personal experience, its always worse if you don't. Alex Lamey would be a good person, or Mr F...

Though just talking about it on the forum here is probably good in and of itself.

Edit: As for reasons, maybe Mike the Borderline Pedophile had something to do with this. Just a possibility.

@wilde Lex plex (alex) would be good to chat with... Mr.f is to school related and i can tell you many many of my problems are school related... one thing would really help is if i could track down Mike and tell him how i feel and what he has done to me.

Well, to try a far shot, something that I always found uplifting, but which is still in the realm of metal (so it might suit your taste) - ever heard of a band called "Vanden Plas"?

Post Fri Feb 25, 2005 6:51 pm

Another early 'metal' band, btw, which always cheered me up with their unique sound, should be familiar to you as a fellow canadian: Rush.

Post Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:06 pm

Oh i know rush... there a bit odd but they are uplifting. considering your in germany right now you must be familar with nightwish.... i find them pretty cheering.

Wow it just happened again.... i get these random surges of depression that make me feel terrible for a while....

Yeah they're good imho, but they're not german. Their origin is Nokia land - they're finnish.

Do you also have surges of the other extreme, like phases of being very happy?

Post Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:12 pm

Yeah i have surges of everything, i guess the chemicals in my brain are odd. most of the time food triggers it, this time i wasnt eating.

i know nightwish isnt geermany but there germanic

Yay, a fellow Rush lover

As for their songs relevant to depression, and especially for teenagers, I'd say Subdivisions (the weird one Q107 always plays)--Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone..
