Going away for a few days

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Going away for a few days

Though its likely none of you will notice, since I don't post around here a lot, I will be gone for a few days to the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Idaho. Wish me luck!

Good luck, and have fun. Too bad Lionel himself isn't alive anymore - I had the pleasure to hear him live a long time ago.

However, enjoy the festival!

Bluegrass? *shudder*. Sadly I never got the chance to hear Lionel in person, only recordings. All that remains at this festival is his big band (which is fabulous) and a bronze statue out on stage.

Actually, I will settle for Glen miller type big band, Boston Pops clasical, Yanni for New Age as well.

Bluegrass?!?! Why cant you jsut listen to Nice soothing Thousand Foot Crutch or PIllar, P.O.D, Skillet.

Personaly claptons Blues are the ebst blues to listen to.... but im a metal/rock guy mostly so i'm not the best to ask on the subject

Blues and bluegrass are totally different flavors. I grew up with KISS, Areosmith, ELO, Boston, Deep Purple, and Alan Parsons Projects, but have changed my tastes over the years.

So as to not hijack the thread, back to your jazz times

Well, I finally made it back, very tired. It was a great show. The highlight was an Australian musician, James Morrison, playing trumpet and trombone. Though I am not a brass musician it was definately a treat to hear someone who can play higher on trombone than trumpet.
