Thunderbird E-mail handler

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Thunderbird E-mail handler

I know we have a few Mozzila and Firefox users, but anyone tried or is useing Thunderbire e-mail client, besides Me? It works great with G-Mail, and lets me see each letter/reply seperate, rather than staced up like an accordian. Just wondering if any one else hade it, or likes it. See the Mozilla page to download 0.9 the newest.

I downloaded it, but deleted and uninstalled it when I realised that I couldn't use it with Hotmail (damn proprietary software!). Still, it seems to be a well-designed program, and I have heard nothing but good things about it.

It wouldn't configure with hotmail? Incredimail does, but as I have Gmail now, i havn't wanted to try hotmail.

Well Hotmail doesn't use POP which is a major problem, and is mainly designed to be used with Outlook (). While I prefer Yahoo!, Hotmail is a necessary evil unfortunately.

T-Bird rocks. Still in beta and it is outstanding. Best of all, it is for free.

Good bye Outlook in all its many flavors....bleeecccch .

The Newer .90 is better too.

So version .90 is better than "outstanding"? That's high praise .

I downloaded It a little while ago but never installed it for some reason, I just did and it looks like it works wonders, I was just wondering how to add a Gmail account to it.

@Finalday- I hope you're not advocating for incredimail. One of my well intentioned parents downloaded that and it filled my computer with various agents of research-based marketing (aka. spyware) I spent the better part of two days trying to get all of its components installed and out of the registry... I still don't think I have them all.

Work from the Gmail side of it, it explains it in the settings/ forward and pop area. Then second area, configure instructions. Thunderbird is on the list.

Edit - for JDawg, I have used incredimail for 2 years with zero problems, or spyware. I have ran two programs, all it picks up is the one cookie it uses, like any other e-mail program, like opeamail.

i can't set up the f****** settings because i don't know what my server type is

Post Mon Nov 29, 2004 4:23 pm

Are you trying to set Thunderbird up? If so, you don't need to know the server, what is shown in the instruction helps, is what is set up. pop.gmail.com port 995
smtp.gmail.com port 587.
