Computer games and joysticks

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

The only joystick I have is so old that it should be in a museum! It must have been early 80's design, and certainly looks like it

However, I did have another one, that did break - whilst playing X-wing. I reverted back to the ol classic, and it never broke. I think I even have it here, although the last comp I used it upon was the ol 386sx25

last joystick i ever used was on a zx81 spectrum, i was about 3 years old i think

There are two joystick-like things on the PS2 controllers, thats about it.

I've been using the same Sidewinder Precision Pro for, oh, 6 years now. It has served me well through X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, Rogue Squadron, (Star Wars addict? Me? You must be joking! ) Combat Flight Simulator 2 and a whole bunch of demos that I couldn't be bothered to remember. It hasn't been getting much attention lately though (as you can probably tell from the list of games I used it to play).

I also have the Sidewinder precision pro. It's done me well since I got it Rarely use it any more though

I got rid of mine just to day
Some MS Force Feedback 5 year old stick. Only used it for Starlancer and Mechwarrior 3, but I only played MW3 for like 5 minutes or so.

hmm, had 2 joysticks for my old C64
I.. hmm.. rebuilt them a bit - destroyed one of them in the process.

when XWing came out i got myself an old analog joystick, still have it somewhere.
since the Xwing series i try to avoid games that need a joystick - i prefer mice and keyboard.

My precision pro broke after many good years of use. Solution? Precision Pro 2...

Whats a joystick??? lol like someone said earlier...PS2 controllers have 2...so does that count? All i have ever used was a driving wheel\pedel set on the pc...and that Driving Force Steering wheel for the PS2 (the one made for GT:3).

so anyone know a good PC joystick?

logitech wingman extreme (Analog) prophecy finally busted it. Still works but pulling back works at half speed no matter how I tweak the x and y axis'. The thing i liked most about that joystick is that it was tight you had to exert pressure to get it to move and it would always snap back. Does any one know of a joystick that has similar characteristics thats not too pricey.

I went through heaps of joysticks, mainly on X-Wing and Tie Fighter, but then I got my Precision Pro Sidewinder. no probs since.

The main component that broke was the springs that centered to stick, a lot of hasty repairs with rubbber bands

my joystick always breaks just as I want to start a new game

A nice one I don't use since I play freelancer with a mouse. (Heh, at least one good thing that has come out of it besides being able to account for a sticky mouse in combat.) Actualy, a wingman I belive.
