I''m glad I don''t live in China (Part 2)...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

That's right, it's another thread about privacy! Personally, I think that this is going WAY too far. I keep telling you people that 1984 is coming *shakes head in disgust*. Thoughts?

hmm, interesting. though i doubt that its only "observations".

just a few thoughts to fuel the fire
- missile defense?
- highspeed sattelite inet? (remember, china's tech part is growing veryvery fast).
- erhmm, whatever < insert paranoid theory here >

Esky, I think its time to synchronize our chronometers , Im living in 2004 what year are you living in??

all Jokes aside, isn't this one of the downsides of technology?? And one of the major aspects of the human psyche?? the wish to keep tabs on anyone where-ever on the face of the planet.

Esq, suppose I shouldn't tell you that for some time the banks around the world use software that scans ALL accounts held, and pulls up any transactions that are out of the norm for that account/business etc. Anything suspect gets passed onto special anti fraud units of government, and if necessary, onto government agencies too

However, buy shares in tin foil manufacturers - China has a large population, and you could make a killing

you know, my dad got these samples of this material.. they're radio-wave-proof. we even tested it. i wrapped up mum's hp (not mine, mind you) in the stuff and tried calling it, and calling out of it. network not found. cool eh? i'll sell you some esq, at the right price of course

The thing is that we are losing our privacy a little more every day, however having a bunch of satellites "studying" societal behaviour 24/7 is over-the-top. It's hard enough walking down to the local supermarket and picking up some ginger beer without people noticing, but having a satellite track you while you do so is frightening. Taw would agree with me *sniff*.

kimk - You'll have to wait until I have some money .

Chips - Indeed. Because of that, I only withdraw my money from ATMs and don't interact with my secret Cayman Islands account .

Loc - My watch was affected by Y2K .

oops i think i hit the wrong button

@ kimk: how much per square metre? seriously.

Well, it looks like none of us are safe, time to break out the reflective suits!

im sorry to say this to you, and it isn't by any means meant to offend, but the only way to stop you from being tracked, is by rejecting all technology, Computers, TV sets, Stereo sets, Cellular phones, landlines you name it, the lot of it.

If you don't wish to be traced, youd simply have to start reverting back into the middle ages, the foil Kimk mentioned may be radiowave absorbing/deflecting, but whats to stop Governing agencies to use a different part of the spectrum, like Electromagnetism like EM Waves, think about being implanted by an EM wave source emitter, which basicly amplifies the body electric electric currents, and amplifies it into an EM field around your body, youd litterally be lit up like a christmas tree being able to be spotted from the moon or so, not to switch on Esky's sixth sense of paranoia () but this could already be happening.

Very true. At the moment it's a trade-off; technology or privacy. Things will only get worse I tells ya.

As for paranoia well, you people (with the exception of Taw) could definately use some .
