Use the helps that come with Gmail to configure the POP set up. I had to adjust some settings to use Thunderbird.

I've got a program that maps the Gmail storage to a drive letter so I can use it as an external drive with the capacity of 1GB

GMail? Meh. I'd consider acquiring one, but I dislike their "automated information collection policy" or whatever the hell it is called (not that I send anything interesting , it's the principle
