Mine are:

1 - Marvin in Pulp Fiction

Vincent turns to the backseat with the .45 casually in his grip.

VINCENT
Marvin, what do you make of all this?

MARVIN
I don't even have an opinion.

VINCENT
C'mon, Marvin. Do you think God came down from Heaven and stopped the bullets? ...

2 - Cube - Movie intro scene

3 - Mad Max I - the unlucky dude that gets chained to the burning car - Mad Max giving him a saw to make his choice ...

4 - Dead Man - the whole movie is a long death scene basically - absolutely brilliant - both visually and audio.

... could make an endless list.

1. John Coffey, The Green Mile
2. Jesus, The Passion of the Christ
3. Roy, Bladerunner
4. Boromir, The Lord of the Rings
5. Gandalf, The Lord of the Rings (well, he didn't actually die, but it looked like he did, so it kinda was a death scene)

Of course there are much more great death scenes, but these came to mind right now

lol. great subject I'm afraid I can't do 3 though, too little, I've listed 10 of my favourites but I can think of a dozen more at least :

1. Christian Slater as "JD" in Heathers
(blows himself up on the steps of the school and winona ryder lights a cigarette from the explosion)

2. John Hurt as "Kane" in Alien
(the classic, first ever, exploding chest as the alien breaks out)

3. Phil LaMarr as "Marvin" in Pulp Fiction
(Vincent's gun accidentally blows Marvins head off when they go over a bump in the road)

4. Peter Weller as "Officer Murphy" in Robocop
(this scene still disturbs me even though its now so outdated, Murphy is gunned down and sadisticly has pieces of his body blown off for "pleasure". Sick stuff, but memorable at the same time)

5. Alec Guinness as "Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi" in Star Wars: A New Hope
("You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine" )

6. Alan Rickman as "Hans Gruber" in Die Hard
(There's just something about that look on his face when he falls in slow motion)

7. Jean Reno as "leon" in Leon
(...."Mathilda"....)

8. "Hal's girlfriend" (sarah?) at the beginning of Cliffhanger
(not the most inspiring movie, but a spine tingling start as Hal's girlfriend horrificly falls to her death)

9. Sean Connery as "Jim Malone" in The Untouchables
(the most hilariously terrible death scene ever filmed - an absolute classic!)

10. Sebastian Shaw as "Anakin Skywalker" in Star Wars VI : Return of the Jedi
("You were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right" - not the greatest of cinematic deaths, but certainly one of the most memorable)

Donnie Darko's death was excellent, the way he goes back in time to confront his own demise, knowing that in doing so he rescues the ones he loves.

The guy that "bites the curb" in American History X, despite lacking any actual graphic material I find myself shuddering everytime I see it.

Maximillian Cohen in Pi, quite possibly the nastiest way to commit suicide ever.

Elle Driver in Kill Bill 2, while not strictly a death, the entire cinema groaned at what the Bride does to her.

Then there's all the deaths in Se7en, Battle Royale, Brain Dead and the Final Destination movies. Those all get major brownie points for imagination

I find the Death of the Ronin in the Movie Zatoichi a very good Death Scene, underwhich, also Ken Watanabe's Seppuku is very moving, but one very moving Death Scene is Yukishiro Tomoe's in Tsuioku Hen, its very tragic imo, sacrificing yourself for someone you love.

Further Death scenes I can't really remember for now, but ill let you know.
