the end of the world will be an act of GOD..ok well a scientist with the initals of G.O.D...Gilber Oribis Dilkner...or something like that...when he goes on coffe break and the lamo drunk janitor sits on a console and "oops i sat on the red button labled "do not press"....duu...what do i do now"....and walks awat whistling....the cataclysmic anti-matter reaction builds...breaking its containment field..and makes the planet turn itself inside out...BOOM!!!!

and then the alien ship that seeded the planet with humans (mainly because we were a genetic byproduct and mistake) the commander looks down and sees the pretty explosion that throws venus, and mars off their orbits...and says...'Damn it BOB!!! i TOLD you to eject that ooze into space!!! now look what you did...our boss is gonna be pissed...." bob says.."Mybad, i missed the trash...damn it there goes ANOTHER months pay....i tell ya i need to lay off the ion bong...."

Sorry to revive a rather old topic, but I just came across an excellent book on apocalypse. The version is that the world will end due to the heating of the planet, BUT not due to the greenhouse effect. It's gonna be heating up of the core. Lots of cataclysms, of course, and the remaining humans will finish the job. The description of the mass destruction (both natural and caused by humans) is just awesome. IMHO, the book WAY outspits Stephen King's "The Stand". You really have to have strong nerves to read it . If anybody's interested, it's Simon Clark's "King Blood". Warning: extreme (!) violence and some explicit content - not recommended for people under 18.

I actually think it'll be caused by a bizarre lapse of events beginning with Penn State winning the National Football championship two years in a row and Duke going a whole basketball season without winning a game. Then an American president will do a good job overall, not screwing up. Vivendi will fix my CD Key problems and a game will be released on time by Valve. I'll get over my caffeine addction and not be tired at school. A combination of those things will cause time to shatter and the world will not really be destroyed, but be transformed into a series of computer code watched by a Penguin with a supercomputer.

Well, let's see. Since we can only experience the world through our own perception of it (think about it, it's true), then "the world" will end when I die. Now, that doesn't mean the world will end, but I can't have my perception anymore, at least to the best of my knowledge, so my world will have ended. As for the planet and for other living beings, they've got a long long way to go before worrying about the world ending, except for themselves, of course, who's world will end when they die. Did I go in enough circles for everyone there???
