Hmmm, well its not exactly the END of the world, but a dramatic climate change(such as a very cold and long ice age) would prove too much for us. If by then we had developed the capability to leave for another habitable planet by then, those who wanted and those that could afford it might leave, and that would be enough to doom the human race(on earth, the humans that left may still survive)

it wont. when doom looms above us all teh 1337 kimk will find uber fast methods to terraforming planets so fast you can do it overnight and i'll also have found plenty of habitable planets, so many that family planning would be illegalised. earth might get blown to dust by stupidity or a huge chunk of rock from space, whichever comes earlier.

dont ask my why im preserving stupidity, i just felt like it. i might just terraform the moon and save my ass and a few others.

i know i made little sense here.

but i think earth's gonna end in nukes or huge chunk from space.

The end of the world will be either:

A) Aliens get really pissed off at us for doing tests on them in the desert and blow the planet up

or

The sun will continue to burn as normal, until it starts expanding into a red giant, happens with most stars as they age. Now, with a red giant, the gravatational field expands as well as the size. Earth will get sucked into the photosphere of the sun and burn up. After frying off all life on earth, of course. By then the earth's magnetisphere will probably be blown away by the intense solar wind, along with our atmosphere. Humans, if still alive, would then be eaten away by gamma and microwave radiation comming from the sun that the magnetesphere and atmosphere protects us from.

or

C) We develop anti-matter power plants that run all power on the planet. Some idiot from the middle east that was pissed off from the invasion in the early part of the century, goes and destroys the reactor, causing the anti-matter to react with matter in a huge display of fireworks that will eat a good chunk of earth and atmosphere also causing us to go off our axis and get closer (or farther away) from the sun, killing off what's left after the explosion because of an unballance..

or... J/k. I'm out of practical Ideas...

Actually, the B is more likely to happen. Do I care? no, cause I will be so far into the ground that my grandchildren ^5 power wouldn't even care. It would take a long time for the sun to even get that far. A few billion years probably.

Um, not quite. Gravity is a function of mass, not volume. Main sequence red Giants do not have any sort of mass increase. When the Sun expands it will engulf Earth, however.

I think the world will end when physicists create a black hole in one of those crazy supercolliders and, instead of it just collapsing in on itself, it will grow and swallow Earth. Hopefuly we will have colonized other solar systems by then so humanity won't all be destroyed.

I'm still going for the classic- Nuclear Holocaust.

I recon we are going to have a huge war and all us TLR members will live on one of saturns moons and have sucha big war that no-body knew whats gonna happen. then a really big rock will kill of all coalition(yay) then we will go to te sirius sector.
