Wealth

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Wealth

Well, I've been thinking about it a bit.
Is it really fun and good to be extremely wealthy?
I mean, one of the reasons everyone wants to be wealthy, is because then they can get everything they have ever wannted. but if you have everything you want, what is left in life...what do you live for then? You have everything you want, so what is left in life.
Is being rich really really such a good thing?

Sigs are so overrated. I would never think of us..uhm nevermind

Yes,

As long as you aren't:

Selfish
Arrogant
Evil
Lazy

Personally, gimmie all the cash and I will show you that its everything its cracked up to be. Sure - I may not appreciate how hard others have to work for things, but one thing is for sure, I could live my life the way I wish to do - no working to make money to enable me to do things, which is the crippler in enjoying life.

I could travel the world, learn whatever I wished to try and learn with lots of freetime to persue all my interests.

yes - being rich is all its cracked up to be . Money may not be able to buy you love, but it can get you nearly everything else.

Whilst they use that phrase to suggest being rich won't make you happy, your not garunteed love if your poor either - so its a mute point.

To see the world sw. I could travel the world for decades, you could do anything you want within reason, learn any new skill you may wish to possess, get involved into any project that you find interesting, take active participation in anything you are interested in.

Its often a misconception by younger folk that if your loaded, and can afford to buy anything you wish, that life must be boring because there is nothing after that.
Move forward from material possessions - does the computer actually keep you entertained? Or is it the people that you are meeting online/games your playing etc. Its so much more than just material possessions. I, on my wage/job, will never get to visit all the countries I want to visit (which is......nearly all of them). I don't mean a two week holiday, thats nothing - I am talking about living, immersing and participating in the country for 6 months or so.
I would love to go skiing again, but I only get 20 days holiday a year at present. If i was rich, I could afford to ski until I was very proficient, and then go all over the world taking on the most adventurous places.

I would love to learn how to fly a helicopter, learn how to fly a plane etc - and then become a free air ambulance pilot - as you don't need the income, its a past time entertainment. I would love to try my hand at racing, sailing a 'tall ship' as they call them around the world, and climb kilamanj....erm - that huge african peak! See a volcano errupt, learn Kung Fu in China (guess where ) etc.

Money wouldn't mean I was bored because I could own anything, it would mean I am free to explore EVERYTHING!

Wealth is not the limit - not even close. Bored with your wealth? spend it. Give it away (to charity). Finance a spaceship or something.

Security for my family. Sure i could have everything i want but i would want my future generations be in good positions.

If i had a wife and children, there future and security comes way ahead of my own.

"Is it really fun and good to be extremely wealthy?"

Yes. Hell yes. If I were in such a position I'd fly every day. That'd never get old. Ever. The rush of rotation...oooh, I'm getting shivers just thinking about it.

Of course I would fly dinky little Cessnas, oh no. I'd do it in style. Like, F-16 style. (Okay, fine, maybe L-39 Albatross style.)

Well, it depends what you're going to do with it. I'm sort of rich, but all I do is hang around the middle of nowhere frightening people who step on my lawn... but then again, that's basically what I want. I want to hang around and get drunk and post on random websites and not worry about anything else..

I guess in a way money allows one to escape "real life" to a degree

Wealth can be a giver or a taker, depending on how you view it. When you put value on wealth, and simply view having wealth as the important thing, is where the problem is. Wealth is a means to a end, it is not something to covet in itself. I want wealth for food, freedom and long life. Once those things are certain, I have no want or need for it.

Being rich doesn't mean you have everything you want. It only means that you may acquire any material thing you want as long as it isn't illegal (and sometimes even illegal things).

Having everything you want is something different altogether.

If you are someone who wouldn't be able to become rich in real life but all of suddent become rich out of some wonderful stroke of luck or fluke, you'll most likely find lots of wonderful or stupid things to do with the money. If you are someone who, instead, made himself rich, then those qualities that made you rich most likely will keep you from being free with your time and money to enjoy life to the fullest.

That's my guess anyway.

Definition of enough money = Just a little bit more

money would be nice but all I really want is a nice warm house some entertainment and a friend to share it with

I just thought of something interesting.

Time=Money.
Money=Power

So theoretically,

Time=Power. If you have the time, you should have power. (and with power comes money!!!)
