Another Musical Thread

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Another Musical Thread

Ok, so we've had ppls favourite music, favourite songs, and favourite instruments. This time the question is do you play a musical instrument? and if so, what is it and what kind of music do you enjoy playing?
(This can include singing if you sing in a group/choir of some sort)

Personally, I play the clarinet and I like playing a wide variety of music, from classical orchestral music to jazz and wind band music.

I also sing in the county choir (Berkshire Youth Choir) in which we do lots of different kinds of music, from sacred masses to spirituals to arrangements of 'popular' music.

I can play the euphonium (100 points to whoever knows what that is since most people don't seem to) and I can play the piano a bit.

Post Fri Nov 05, 2004 3:20 pm

euphoinium is a brass wind instrument iirc.

i play classical guitar (so shoot me) and a little bit of piano.

i usually play whatever sounds nice. literally. if anything has adecent rhythmn, i play it.

I know what a euphonium is... the school concert ensemble I play in has quite a few.
I play Alto saxophone for concert and marching band, and jazz as well (still playing second as i'm the junior member of the group). I also play soprano saxophone, flute, and am learning clarinet, though its difficult since I didn't start with it. How many band geeks do we have here on TLR?

Post Fri Nov 05, 2004 4:55 pm

Keyboard, if I play chords

Post Fri Nov 05, 2004 8:11 pm

My God, the people here on TLR are pretty enlightened. I didn't expect two people to know what Euphoniums are. Especially since even some members of my school band didn't know what they were.

I am fortunate enough to go to a school with one of the area's largest music programs. The school district forked over a cool million US for our new rehearsal room. The school has four concert bands, two jazz ensembles, and goodness knows how many orchestral and choral ensembles. Then comes the guitar class, and the various performing arts and stagecrafts round out the gigantic performing arts department. The marching band goes on tour internationally next year. Watch. I could be coming to a town near you!

Some pictures of the various ensembles:

I didn't post a very good picture of myself in Recusant's post a pic of yourself thread... you can find me as the male alto sax player in the Jazz ensemble section if you so desire to torture yourself...
