GTA San Andreas, Multiplayer????

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

GTA San Andreas, Multiplayer????

K, so, I bought San Andreas about 2 hours after it hit stores. And been playing on average about 12 hours a day (yeah its that good). I honestly believe its the best game I have ever played (thats 3 days of playing just about that much every day, and I have only passed it 9%, says alot about its lasting appeal eh?). In any case at one point you save a girl from a building fire (which you started with some well placed molotovs) and she becomes your girlfriend. Ya gotta take her out on dates and all that (before anyone asks, yeah you totally hit that once ya get to know her ) but thats beside the point. After taking her out enough to fill a certain amount of your relationship bar. You can activate the second controller and play CO-OP with another player. Its great fun , you can even have one player drive while the other shoots or vice versa. But what I wanted to say is actually that this may be a indication that the PC version of San Andreas may finally have multiplayer, because it works absolutely perfectly on PS2.

PC Vice City already has multiplayer - Multitheft Auto or something, look on Google.
It's a bit buggy though ....

Meh, those GTA games are all the same. I actually bought GTA:VC, found it playable but average, and ended up selling it to my cousin after a few days for a slight loss. No more GTA for me. Now if they would release a remake of something like "Death Track" or "Death Rally"...

I've been waiting for this for a LONG time. To be honest, it doesn't bother me if it is or isn't multiplayer, its never been a requirement for me.

Although the official release date for the UK is tomorrow, i should have it today as the website i pre ordered it from sent it to me yesterday

Thanks ff for the info you supplied me as well.

GTA is just a bag of cheap laughs. There is no real point to it and you have to think how screwed up the makers are. They made manhunt as well.

aye manhunt... evil bastard game that... but gta's are all great... i can remember playin the 2D ones with the sound down so my mum couldn't hear me running people over , you could switch to the 2D mode on GTA3 but on GTA:VC you couldn't, and I was gutted... I hope in san andreas its got that...

i reckon they should do a GTA nottigham... lol

@BlazeME: ahahhahahahaaaaaaaaa...sorry, your comments are hilarious.

Rockstar games are ace, and British (well rockstar north is anyway) which makes me wonder why its out in britain tomorrow.

@Arcon: What?! They are really screwed up guys! They make so many games that have encouraged killing in children and young adults. I bet that they are satinists or something. I've played Vice City and its alot of fun but if you think of the morals involved - killing people, shooting their heads off, hacking their bodies up, driving over people, hiring prosetutes - you can see that its not exactly a good role model. And I know that they are a british company because i live in england.

Post Thu Oct 28, 2004 10:33 am

They don't encourage you to do those things, they simply give you the choice of doing it. Much like real life. And Satinists don't actually go around and hack up people. In fact they aren't ever supposed to kill people.(No I'm not a satinist, just informed)

Yeah guys your totally misinformed about GTA, part of the reason why its so interesting is because you dont really have to do those things, you simply have the freedom to do them if you so desire. But its funny cause you can ALWAYS tell when someone has never (or played very little) GTA when they say its all about killing everything in your way. Oh and I also bought Manhunt, and while it is very gory, the story is extremely compelling, and its a very solid stealth game aswell. Besides your killing people like white supremacists and escaped-mentally-unstable-serial-killers and so forth. But San Andreas is in a whole other league from the older GTA's. Every mission is completely different (in one your shooting up a shopping mall, the second chasing a train while your brother is shooting guys off of it, and in the third your in a dance competition DDR-style) so its got way more variety. I was actually surprised how many new things there are, besides my liking of the other games, I really thought they were kinda shallow. But San Andreas is really deep actually, you character has stats like muscle, stamina, each weapon even has skills to develop now. Not to mention even things like Sex Appeal (which is how people react to you) and you can talk to people on the streets now, they say something and you can press a button on the D-Pad for a negative or positive response (their HILARIOUS too, sometimes even you get into fights cause of em)

You can also increase your driving, biking, cycling skills, got a lot of RPG flavor in it. But the biggest part of the attraction is all the things you can find around town. You can for example, restore health by buying soda from soda machines, or goto the local bar and play some pool (2 player also) even play the various Arcade machines, which actually have fairly interesting games in em. Or working on your relationship with your girlfriend (easier said than done, she never seems to know what she wants, but I found it hilarious that CJ's replies no matter what she says are like "yeah uh huh" or "this is really interesting, im just gonna listen" then theres territorial conquest, now areas of your map are shaded certain colors, by going in them and shooting up rival gang members. You can incite gang wars, in which you and your (now from start of the game) controllable gang survive three waves before the 'hood becomes yours. Basically guys I can go all day about all the things I have seen and found, but what im trying to say is with SA, GTA has evolved into a much deeper, more interesting game than it ever was.

Theres also the fact that its a whole country now, and no maps or screenshots do it justice, its absolutely MASSIVE, In all my time of playing I have only seen a bit of Los Santos (the first city) which is always a pleasure, to drive around and occasionally run into areas I have never seen before. Theres also the countryside which kicks ass, lots of little peaceful towns with cops that just cant wait to fill you full of lead the first mistake you make. The new weapons are great, yesterday I found one of those little hooks that people who watch animals carry. The one they use to pull people off stages what was it again?? its long and white with a hook at the end. Among that the knives (with the newly implemented and mind you very solid stealth, and stealth kills) and god knows how many more (you can even dual wield most lighter weapons when your skilled enough.

PS: The collectables are still there, there 100 hidden packages, but now in the form of 'Tags you have to graffiti your gang sign over, and theres a second one I dont know much about, which is going underwater (you can swim and dive now btw, also ditch cars that fall in) and finding "oysters" but i dunno what they do. Theres also flower bouqets.

PS2: Oh and I know it had multiplayer but it was a mod, hopefully this one will be official.

R* have taken many risks and a lot of time making the GTA series and Manhunt. They are for the older gamer and are rated as such. I will always defend R* for everything they have made in the past (including Manhunt because there are films that are worse) because they were a breath of fresh air for the somewhat stagnant adult gaming market when GTA1 came out.

GTA is a legend and will always remain one and R* have taken a lot of stick over it. At the end of it tho, you have to be a muppet to carjack someone because the excuse that playing GTA made someone do it is lame.

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this Blaze
