Really Multiplayer

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Really Multiplayer

I've been thinking(yes I can actually do that), what if someone could creaty a game that redefines multiplyer, take for instance a game with submarines or any warfare game. The game starts with you as rookie, you train in a position and as you get better you advance, but what you can do is work on a sub/ship, in which others also work, humans that is.
Make it a totally interactive game, if you can't find a full crew, you can use AI, but make the AI in such a way that humans wil always be better. So you advance till you are a cpatain of your own ship/sub, then you recruit people or they ask you if they can work for you and you run the whole thing. The way you asvance also helps you to know everything the ship/sub/whatever can do.
Something like that. Read what I mean btw, not what is standing here

Sounds like reality, and reality sucks.

But for the person with a lot of time on their hands, and a complete lack of school projects or a job, it would be good. Like a game for the summer between school years. I had an Idea for this several months back, but then I scrapped it because it would take too much time and money to develop and I doubted that many people would have bought it.

If you make it right I think it can be tons of fun and worth much

well sycho you will like this. me and a friend are working on a game called freestar. my friend is a universty programmer. it is a all online game:

Freestar you start out on a planet pretty poor. you can buy a ba ship or get a job to get payment. planets you can walk around and such. on ships to fly you enter the pilots seat otherwise you can wander the halls and cargo bays. you advance levels and such. basicly we are making a demo, and another friends dad runs a computer company that does tons of stuff. he might make it for us. is this what you want?

Some what the ultimate Role playing Game. But, you would have to have the AI take over if one player got mad and left. If he was the COB, your sub would be in trouble.

*COB - Chief Of the Boat

Hmm true
but oh well

@DSQ no, I mean like in several people run a ship/sth together

its online and the ships are designed so you can be in a ship together. not just fighters, frieghters, capships....

Post Sat Oct 16, 2004 9:22 am

hmm okkk, then everyone has to work as a team?

Post Sat Oct 16, 2004 9:44 am

Or you could go it alone with AI, but you won't have nearly as much success. Correct?

A sub battle sim, you have to jump from screen to screen to do it all your self. But If you had someone on the sonar screen, one on the torpedo scree, one on the overall map screen and one on the periscope screen, you could be a lot more efficiant at attacking an enemy sub. That would be a task, but, it could be fun as well.
