This is funny and HAS become a cult reference to geeks but COME ON! next we'll be hearing about how "X ate my balls" or freaking out that we found a website prohesing ninjas are the source of "Real Ultimate Power".

In this instance, the game Zero Wing was translated poorly from Japanese to english using direct literal translations instead of propper translation and shipped. This was picked up on years later on Something Awful which is, for those who dont know, an insanely popular message board where you have to pay a membership fee to be a part of. The engrish mistake in the game became a massive fad and people started making reference to it in passing. This spread to many gamers, IRC folk and forumers all over the internet, who went ahead and photoshopped everything to include all your base into it. And then something else came along and everyone lost interest, although its still engraved into online culture.
