Too fine to spy

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Too fine to spy

It looks like spyware may get chased a little now, which is fine by me.

A step in the right direction, even if it won't do jack all against spyware. If it did, we'd have seen some kind of drop in spam e-mail by now.

Not that I care. Firefox keeps all the crap out (besides the occasional tracking cookie), and IE users keep me employed.

It's a nice idea, but, like it says in the article, Can-Spam didn't really do much. I doubt this'll have much effect, really.

uh-oh looks like im out of buisness lol just kidding, i dont think this will do much, but its probably one out of many steps that will be taken.

I think they have a stronger case against spyware makers/users. They literally are trespassing upon/into each person's computer and taking information/property without the computer owner's consent. That's theft and invasion of privacy as far as I'm concerned.

i can't see it having much of an effect but i would be happier and feel safer online if it did

At this time in the US, there is legislation that has passed the house and expected to pass the senate as well, that will make it a crime and punishable by 5 years in jail. Hope it does pass and is signed into law. That, at the least, will deter some of the spys.

ugh, i just got the most massive spyware attack ive ever seen, wierd popups at random times, it spewed a bunch of junk all over my desktop. the worst part is i dont have a firewall or virus scan, or anything of the sort, so i had to go and clean all the files manually, it really sucked.

ugh spyware, hate it. good job at burning those meanies

Post Fri Oct 08, 2004 7:25 pm

Well it *might* help to cut down on spyware, but I doubt it.

It isn't clear who will be prosecuted. It should definitely be the people who "employ" the spyware as well as the spyware makers.
