The Freighter Fighter photo posting thread (others welcome)

It's most likely your white balance (aka colour temp) that's off. Unf on p&s compacts white balance is handled automatically. So there's not really much you can do about it except try getting some pure white in your shot so the camera can meter correctly (not usually necessary though, it should meter correctly 90% of the time)
