The Freighter Fighter photo posting thread (others welcome)

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@ff. the last time Kent was invaded was in the 1660s by the Dutch who sailed up the Medway. I astounded you didn't know that?

Here's a few shots I took up at a Park north of adelaide, they basically have set it up as a African typs safari, pretty good fun actually. You'll have to forgive the shots of the Lions, they had to be taken through glass for safety reasons.

Giraffe 1
Giraffe 2
Rhino
American Bison
Two Brothers
Lion

Hope you like them, criticisms always welcome.

@mustang - beautiful shots matee, especially "giraffe 1" - how did you get that close? or was it a long lens?

@ff -

bloody hell ff, where the 'eck do you think Chatham Dockyard is??! Wales??! The dutch invaded in the mid-17th Century, the Chatham Dockyard was quickly established as a repair and build yard. But you're right in saying that the majority of the Dutch Trade Wars were at Sea - I'm not entirely sure if we were fully invaded (as it were), but you can read more at the dockyard's website

@taw - I'm beginning to think he actually lives in South Africa...how can a lost northerner know more about the area than a resident?!

@Grom: He was actually fairly close, i'd say no more than 15 meters away and I shot with a 70-300mm lense at 220mm.

I think Mustang lives in Africa from those pictures. couldn't see sw on them though.

Ben I reckon you must be trying to get in to close when you take these shots and your camera can't focus in on the subject, hence why your close ups are always blurred. Try taking a step back or at the very least take a few shots at varying distances from the subject, you can always crop it in tighter in post production.

ive got a macro zoom on my camera, and until i get a better camera, i gotta put up with it, unless i start lugging dads film camera around.

unless i start lugging dads film camera around

maybe you should - you can only really know photography if you know the limits of film and light.

Post Tue Oct 12, 2004 3:52 am

yeah i spose, i could always lug the camera bag around with 4 different lenses, and several rolls of film. actually i might have to soon, ive applied for work experience with the km group...

i use my dad's film camera to shoot, 2 different lenses, forgot their diameters though. 35mm and maybe another 40 or 50mm. nikon F2. ooold. dont need batteries to shoot

Post Tue Oct 12, 2004 7:17 am

you do if you want the lightmetre to work, but those batteries last years.
