It''s not my fault! Honest!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

my cell wasn't. 23hr bang-up and the entertainment consisted of a greasy pack of cards and a tinny transistor radio.

@bret

Prison itself is not the punishment, it is simply the loss of freedom that is the punishment. Unfortunately

@TET

Possibly, but take the two James Bulger killers. Remember what happened to that poor child? They were given TV's, nice rooms etc. They were in that place for murder, not a social gathering.

Yes prison is there to take your freedom, but it is not there to make your life a little bit easier by having luxury items to pass time.

Prison time is also time to think about what you have done, you can't do that if your playing Barry from B Block at a game of Tekken Tag

@taw

If you don't mind me asking, how long ago was that though?

about 7 yrs ago now. 6 moths for *ahem* selling pirated software and hookey computer gear, reduced to 3 months on appeal. Hoped I might get sent to an open prison but got kept in bang-up pokey with a succession of smackheads and burgalrs for company.

What

Compensation culture. Definitely we have problems in this country when it comes to people thinking that they can cop out and blame an external cause for their own personal shortcomings.

An old old joke in my area of work goes like this:

Q: What do you do when you slip and fall in front of a small Mom and Pop store and break your leg?

A: Drag your butt over to the (insert name of major department store here).

Meaning, choose your target, make sure they have the money and then sue their @sses.

I've seen how many of these cases go and I have to say that there are a third or so of cases that are complete and total b s, a few bordering on criminal fraud. A third are totally justified but being ridiculously resisted by the guilty defendant. And a third are neither valid nor not valid.

The press likes to publish the extreme situations because that is what sells and the extremes are from both ends of the spectrum.

bloody hell taw, that seems VERY harsh. Ok so its illegal to do, but being with those types of people with what you had done is a bit heavy.
