FL Studio (Fruity Loops)

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

FL Studio (Fruity Loops)

do any of you mess around with that?
because if you do i need help.

i thought i might try fl studio out, but there is something wrong here.
some samples (or whatever they are called) don't seem to work
if you mess around with it you would know that some things are different colors, and anything that is dark red doesnt play any sound for me. what could possibly be wrong?

Edit:

actually, there are two problems. the above is when i'm using the thing on my dad's computer.
when i save a file on my computer, and try to load it again (either on my dad's or my own) it will say that the file is corrupted.

music making programs

Post Sat Sep 18, 2004 7:06 am

Hey wolf,

A great music composition program is Cakewalk. i have cakewalk 2002 on my pc for making midi compositions and looping those in with mp3 and wav. You are able to write actual music and drum beats in the staff and drum matrix editors.

Also look into Sonar 3 a much better program, i used to have it....but had to do a reformat and lost the program...(damn cd was stolen from my desk..GRRR)

That giga thing....its ok...but Fruityloops is much better i prefer Protools and Acid 4.0 since i usually do live recordings. but for the midi aspect...use Cakewalk...it is da shiznit...(or however they say it lol).

go to i think it is www.cakewalk.com

have fun!!

Okay, to be more coherent this time.

There are 3 programs I use.

Sonic Foundry Sound Forge. Best wave editor. Ever. No competition, and i've tried the rest. Great for trimming the fat from recorded samples.

Sonic Foundry Acid PRO 4.0. Useful if you use .WAV based samples, not good if you're trying to make loops from scratch. Lack of LFO and formula controller plugins makes it an assembler for me.

Fruityloops FL Studio 4.5.
Loop creation, compisition and plugin heaven. Once learned, never forgotten, rarely beaten. Exellent intergration of effects, plus formula controllers and LFOs. The main program I use. Requires a basic knowlege of music theory to mater fully.

There are others, but I dont have full versions, and i dont want to resort to piracy, the ones i have suit me fine.

hmm, i heard you say something about sonic foundry sound forge, i looked and didnt find a thing.

as for fruity loops, yes ilike it (keep in mind its also a 300% improvement of what i had before)
i just don't like the fact that i have to pay for pretty much ever plugin i find

Post Tue Sep 21, 2004 5:17 pm

you cant find sound forge? where are you looking, in the dairy section?

and the best artists can use the base plugins to great effect in Fruityloops. i know i do.

Post Tue Sep 21, 2004 6:30 pm

go to www.sony.com

they have the trial version available...pretty decent demo but you shoudl really get the real thing....and if you buy the..Screenblast ACID 4.0..(i think thats the exact name) it comes with a full version of Soundforge 1.0

but you really really REALLY want Soundforge 7.0...the GREATEST .wav editor in history...you ca edit every aspect of a sound file...if you get on yahoo messenger i can umm...ya know...send..uh ahemm a copy...*cough*...
