more calculator stuff (odd things)

my calculator is being really wierd...i do nothing to it...and yet htings tend to change
the two biggest things i noticed were these:
btw i have a TI 84 Plus Silver Edition (new) if you didnt know (very similar to the TI 83 series)

-when i would go to the catalog (2nd, 0) i could see the syntax of using a selection by pressing "+", and it just stopped doing that for no reason

-just today i was scripting some stuff when out of nowhere, i could make lowercase and capital letters and i could alternate by pressing the "ALPHA" button. just yesterday if i pressed the "ALPHA" button, it would only do capital letters, and if i pressed it again it would go back to the normal cursor. does anyone know how to change these options?

For your second question, there are no lower case letters in any Texas Instrument calculators. Then again, I don't know what you're asking, but I hope this helps.

Wolfy - stop telling us about it, instead - type up a great story behind this - based upon how it first started...i dunno, after you bought it from a charity shop (previous owner unknown) - then you can FLOG it on E-bay for a fortune by giving it a real eirey and creepy write up about it being possessed by the devil or some twoddle. You will probs make quadrouple what the calc is worth - especially if it "spells" out messages too you!!

I expect a 10% commision upon the movie rights to this idea

The MirageOS Application has a Lowercase lettering system option under options>misc. Just press the alpha when your running the App.

As for the syntax thing, dunno, didnt know they could do that meself...

Being a mere ti-83 user, I don't know my credentials here, but your sytax error appearing in a legitamate ti menu page is probably due to some application being run at the wrong time. Disable you apps, and unless your initial software has been corrupted (is that possible on a calculator?) all should be fine. As for the e-bay calculator, anyone stupid enough to pay that much for a possessed calc doesn't deserve their money in the first place. --- VH16

I think pressing the + to get the syntax has to be an activated application. For my Ti-83+, it's called catalog help (or some abbreviation) in the application menu.
