@rec: sure F451, i was just giving 2 examples of, im sure there's more than a few references to these dystopian works.

and yeah, that last fight where they keep knocking their guns to one side is my fave of the entire movie. Its worth listening to the DVD comentary as well, the director really wanted to make his film his way and really describes the passion he has for everything about it, in light of the bad reviews it subsequently got.

It sure is a good Motion Picture, and for various reasons, it shows us what the world could generably be without emotion, sure all wars have stopped, but at what price??

I said there are different words, and I'm sure Lord God is Adonai.

quite right Taw, Adonai is One of his many names, but it breaks one of the commandments to say one of them in vain, so "God" is called hashem in everyday terms.

Loved it, every bit as good as the Matrix I thought.

hate doing this but... that matrix (first one) was a good movie but it was a complete take off of a good philsophy that was born in the 16 centruy or was it the 17 century? any ways the next to were bad and aful i think this movie is better

i hate people who compare this movie to the matrix. There's more different than similar between the two films...seriously.

This movie is great! Normally I despise corny Rambo-esqe movies but this one is so funny. My favourite scene is where two guys are holding shotguns to the main guy's head. But suddenly his hands fly up and flip the shotguns around so they are in his hands (sounds whack I know but you really have to see it to understand) and fires into them. For some reason, all the baddies have long black coats and black motocycle helmets. It's brilliant only for the cool scenes where he flicks guns around and takes out like 20 guys by himself. Lol, it's hilarious

one of the better movies i have seen, i reckon the best fighting bit is the bit in the nether with the shotguns.

@everyone who's seen it:
remember the bit at the top of the Tetragrammaton tower? where Preston is talking to that vice council guy and he yells: 'ARE YOU PLAYING WITH ME CLERIC?'
that told me that he could feel, because, if he couldnt, he wouldnt have gotton angry, and thus, wouldnt have yelled.
