Resident Evil: Apocalypse

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse

I was not a fan of the first, but the preview I just saw looks good. Its also good to see Milla Jovovich, after she was in The fifth element.

The first movie sucked. This one looks even worse. No thanks. Game-to-movie translations? Yucky!

I though the first one was "Ok". It wasn't good enough to add to my collection. There is a Silent Hill game in the works as well i read.

I take it I'm the only person who liked Wing Commander the movie then?

What about AvP? I'm one of the priveledged few in the UK to have seen that and I kinda liked it.

AvP was GREAT!! I loved it....

As for resident evil, first one was ok...but seing trailer of second one I think it will be good . In this part Nemesis is a bad boy right??

@Leonhart: AvP was NOT a game-to-movie translation at all. That sucker's been in development hell for 12 years. So it doesn't count.

@Saiyan: Yes you are the only one who actually liked that dungheap.

Hey make that two! there are worse movies than Wing Commander - give those guys a break

Post Fri Aug 27, 2004 9:30 am

Worse than WC? Is there a sequel then?

Post Fri Aug 27, 2004 9:54 am

Wing Commander was ok in some areas but in others...

My big problem with Wing Commander was with the acting, some of the effects and the Kilrathi themselves. Most of the effects were actually quite good. Unfortunately, you had Freddy Prinze, Jr. in it. That's a minus. Then there's the Kilrathi. I couldn't imagine a race being done worse than that. Any conceivable intelligent human would have been able to tell that those creatures were fake. They weren't even CGI, which would've been better. I was just disappointed by the whole thing. No it wasn't the worst I've seen. No, that honor goes to Double Dragon. What a mess THAT movie was. I still have nightmares, about how bad it was.

WC stank. what a missed opportunity.

Something must go really wrong in the transition between game->movie.

Resident Evil, as a game, i thought was fantastic and it had a great storyline to all of them. I think the problem movie producers have is a) They can't copy the game storyline on a like for like basis, therefor they creat a story based on characters and events in the game and it doesn't usually turn out to well, and b) they can't get the staff

I got really excited by the prospect of a RE film, much like i have about the Silent Hill film that is being worked on, but its unfortunate that games don't usually make good movies.

Well, I've been hearing about the new Mortal Kombat movie that's coming in the next year or two. This one has promise, I think. It's gonna have the biggest budget of the three. So, better special effects than Annihilation(bleh!). Hopefully. What's gonna be the biggest draw of THIS next one I think, is the return of Christopher Lambert as Raiden and Linden Ashby as Johnny Cage. MK3 is supposed to follow the storyline of the Mortal Kombat Deception game on the XBOX,PS2 and GameCube. My biggest problem with this one though, is it's going to be directed by the same guy who directed the second movie. Not a good sign. I think this one has SOME potential, because the original Mortal Kombat was actually a fairly decent movie. Which obviously is rare. I just hope it doesn't suck like the second movie did. Sorry for the off-the-off-topic topic. But just something I wanted to say.
