It is inevitable that certain people will not mesh well with each other. There are many people at my school that i cant stand. I would love to belt the stuffing out of some people at times. But that would disrupt everyone elses lives, split my friends up, having them take sides against each other, and ruin what would be a rather cool group. So, for the sake of others, I leave well enough alone from those who bug me,and focus on other activities, such as basketball (the lunchtime sport of choice).

Instigators do not rate high in my eyes, a continuous annoyance to the smooth flow of everyday life, so dont start ****, or say things just to get a reaction or to annoy people. it really annoys me.

Anyway, back on topic:

Personally, i don't see what is wrong with the erotic entertainment industry, and i dont see what is so immoral about sex. To me violence and hatred pose more of a threat than two people procreating on tv. Certain doctrines have instilled certain values of morality, which were non-exsistant in ancient times.

But i wont go on about that. Forum rules, ya know?

Eventually, the adult industry was going to get its hands on computer technology, an delaying it is futile. im not embracing it, but games like Manhunt are more of a threat compared to games like these. And manhunt aint no theat to society as long as it's policed.

Viator does make a good point. Which is less moral? Spending 10 hours blowing people away with an assorted array of lethal weapons, or spending 10 hours attempting to shag your neighbour?

There was a guy here in England recently who murdered someone in the exact way he'd seen in Manhunt. He was only something like 15. Not nice.


SatS, don't bother with the "mea culpa" speech against the moderators. This isn't a democracy, it's Bargib's and the moderators' dictatorship, they make the rules. If they haven't banned Heltak, there's nothing you can do about it. So what if he would have been banned on some other boards? TLR just isn't one of those boards. This just isn't worth anyone's time, least of all yours.

@SatS - The majority of us have been nothing but polite to you, but just because you don't get on with one person you not only generalise your insults but you also direct them at the excellent moderator team. I've never been on board that is as fairly moderated as TLR. They are a good bunch of blokes that are patient and give up their time for all of us. Their judgement is never questioned by the rational.

You can't go through life getting p*ssed off with everybody because ONE person doesn't like you. Boo f'in Hoo. Life's about getting the most out of every situation not about biting everybody because somebody doesn't like your opinion. Welcome to the real world pal.

I've seen a lot of new members over the last few months - if anything the number is increasing. We welcome them all with open arms, as we did you, our only request being that they have respect for each other and abide by the basic rules of TLR.

Now I've grown to respect you since you first turned up in the OT forum, but quite frankly, your last post was disgusting. Who the **** do you think you are trying to judge us all like that? Your argument with Heltak is futile on both sides, but up until now you've managed to keep your dignity quite well. However after reading that last verbal attack I've lost all respect for you. You belittle yourself in your random insults.

If you don't like it around here, and you can't summon up enough intelligence to verbally defend your corner without getting aggressive at everybody else...then **** off and don't come back.

On topic, it's not the fact that the game material is "adult" it's the fact that the big companies are stopping to the lowest common denominator, and that if games like that begin out-selling more traditional games, then what hope is there for Freelancer 2/3, etc? Not much, as they will not be as profitable as other genres, and thus other genres will be curtailed. I weep for the future... Hmm, sw is right, we REALLY need that crying emoticon .

I dunno esky, I don't think it will kill the market - I think it will strengthen it by bringing in a whole new breed of gamer. Think about it this way - in the first couple of years of the net, everyone complained about it and said that it would end up as "adult services" only. But it hasn't, anything but. Adult sites are still in the majority, but the web gets stronger and stronger by the day. You can pretty much find a site about anything you want to nowadays....people are interested now and so money is being pumped into it.

IMHO The same will happen with games. There will be a new breed of ultraviolent, ultrasexy games that will bring offence to many but will open the door for a whole new exploration of the technology. By strengthening the market, graphics will improve, sound will improve, gameplay will take a leap forward....and before you know it we will have a whole new generation of gaming that covers every genre.

OK, that's enough! I can't believe what I'm seeing here... the immaturity level in this thread is so high it makes my eyes water. And don't any of you start saying "He or she's the one that started", because that's totally irrelevant and even if someone started, the rest who gone into this should have known better and not respond to it...at least not in the forums. We have email and messenger for that sort of thing. Don't let yourself be drawn into something like this.. .be the mature one if the other person is incapable of doing so. This specifically goes for SatS and Heltak... going off against eachother like this in public is leading nowhere and should have been taken outside these forums. And again... I don't want to hear about "He started this" or any of that nonsense... those sort of things are said by kids who attend kindergarten...

And you SatS... who are you to judge how we Moderate or Admin this site? Have you any idea what it's like to Moderate and Admin a site which has had 7.4+ million unique visitors in 4 years and has 17000+ registered members? I think not. We try to make this site enjoyable for one and all.. regardless of age and will not let it be ruined by trolls, immature posters, spammers and more of that sort, because if we would let that sort of behavior happen on this site.. it wouldn't be as good and enjoyable as it is today. Maybe you don't like the way we maintain control on this site, but that's really your opinion and I'm happy to discuss it with you in private (email or messenger) or maybe you can take it up with the big boss (Bargib), but since I talk with him on a daily basis, I now exactly what he's going to tell you and that's the same as I just did.

Yes, these are Moderated forums, so yes we make the rules. We don't easily ban someone unless really necessary and we don't need anyone telling us who we should or shouldn't ban... that's how this site works, if you don't like it, then leave.
