And two more: Ace Combat 04 and one of the games this site is based around, Freelancer. Both these soundtracks have two things in common:

1. Both of them are for not-so-realistic flight sims.(although FL is a space sim while AC04 is modern combat)

2. Both of their soundtracks are made up mainly of techno/orchestra hybrid music.

My favorite song from FF8 is the one that plays in Fisherman's Horizon(the town in the middle of the ocean with all the solar panels). That's probably the happiest a game song can get without sounding childish.

NOLF 2 had a pretty good soundtrack.

Some old games had good soundtracks as well, despite sub par sound quality. 1830 comes to mind immediately. Innumerable other classic games come to mind upon further contemplation.

Man, I totally forgot about NOLF 2. Killer music. Awesome game too.

well, if you're talking old skool themes, nothing beats tetris. one of the most catchiest tunes ever written, other than ride of the valkyries.

The soundtrack for NOLF 1 was better than 2 in my view.
