otherwise you can do it the old fasioned way, which is a mess unless you're very careful

I've used machines over the years (when I was employed), but I did not know that there were "kits".

i can get things laminated at our city market for 5p a sheet and we have a laminating machine at my school which i've used before.

It depends what type of lamination your looking for, if it's just normal book-type lamination then you could probably do it yourself without much trouble or have it dome profesionally. If your looking for the stiff poster-style lamination, then you need a machine, ive seen them in bric 'n brac stores, you just pay to use it per laminate

I laminate a lot - so much so I bought myself a machine to do it. Its easy peasy...firstly, you need to buy a laminating machine then a bunch of laminating pouches (they're a bit like a plastic folder that you put things inside). Then you put the thing you want laminating into the pouch, heat up the machine and feed the pouch through. The whole process takes about 2 minutes.

Simple as that. If you're only doing it for a couple of things, just go down to your local high steet printer/photocopy shop and get it done there, cheap as chips as they say.

Maybe I'm not getting sth, but isn't it easier to actually buy laminated cards? Geez, they even have plastic cards! You're talking about playing cards, right?

For a quick job late at night, a couple of layers of clear shipping tape (transparent duct tape basically, not the kind with the lines through it) does a half decent job, especially if you're only looking at one side. And at a couple of bucks a role, the tape won't break the bank. --- VH16
