Worms 3D

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Worms 3D

I just bougt it (along with Stronghold Crusader, Mafia, and a PS2 game called Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System) I have been a worms fan since Worms 2, for the uninitiated its a turn-based strategy game where groups of worms fight each other on large maps and the last worm standing wins. Im really really impressed with the latest iteration, Worms 3D, i would go so far as to even say its much better than any other I have played. The graphics are crisp and sharp, and one of my favorite parts of worms was always the voices (like right now i have Gangsta selected, worms have incredibly squeaky voices, so when you hear a worm with a incredibly squeaky voice say stuff like "this brotha's DOA from a 183" (**** if i know what it means) but the irony is sweet in any case) , the weapons are the staple of the gameplay and im sure happy there all still here plus all the new additions, but what really impressed me was the seed-based random map generator, each map is almost a masterpiece, it seems as each was designed with tender love and care by a impeccable designer, even though they are random, i believe its quite a leap in random map generation.

As I said, the seed system is quite impressive, i can get open random maps,or type in various words or even random (or non random) number combinations and get all kinds of maps (typing my own name got me onto a alien map, complete with glowing green ooze and islands everywhere) not only that but what was cool is that its not just a random generated number, so if you come across one you like, you can simply reinsert the same number/word and get the same map (you can even send friends the numbers you played on for them to experience it and what is cool about that is if you find a nice map, you dont gotta send it, just beam them a number and they can play it too). It seems this one really focuses on replay value quite a bit, aside from random maps, it has multiplayer and single player, a full fledged campaign (the D-Day scene was quite awesome) and a series of standalone challenges, hundreds of unlockable and secrets ranging from maps to weapons. Honestly it quite impressed me, even something simple like the Wormpot, which lets you get a random game config out of 10,000 different variations (like game setups, for example, one would be Super Explosives, Low Gravity, Super Melee) this coupled with tons of weapons and truly unique maps make each fight a standout.

So far, I havent run into any game-related problems, I do and forever have had trouble throwing grenades, but that is more based on my own skill than the game.

It was also, only 20 bucks, and this concludes my short review, if you find it, pick it up, ya wont regret it

I tried the demo and wasn't impressed.
The camera system was too annoying to get used to ....
