Remember (Insert gaming experience) Ah, good times, good tim

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Damn, I wish I was old enough to have played all of these classic games.
The oldest game I can remember is Simcity 2000 or Quake 3 Arena, which I didn't enven play much.

blimey, you make me feel old

I was going to suggest that you go on ebay and pick yourself up an Amstrad CPC464 with a couple of hundred games for £20....but to be honest, if you're used to modern computers, you'd hate it on soooo many levels. ie.

1. waiting for 20 minutes to see if a game has loaded. If not, rewind, adjust volume by a millimetre and try again. Some days I spent 5 or 6 hours trying to get my favourite games to load - and then play them for half an hour.

2. sound consists of *blip*, *beeep*, *ppppoooo*, *paaah*, *ppeeeuuuw*, *pppcosh* and thats about it

3. graphics had 2-64 colours, 2 being the most common, but 64 on some big budget high end games

4. save game? naah you won't be wanting that!! save game is for wusses.

and so on and so forth

I preferred the arcades as they were though - there was only one of each type of game usually - one shooting game (Operation Wolf usually), one dual player beat-em-up (Double Dragon), one big budget wow-I've-never-seen-that-before-but-it-costs-a-pound-a-go-so-I-won't-bother (afterburner or dragons lair), one four player adventure (Gauntlet) and then a variety of space games, such as the original Star Wars vector based game, which was ace

What about "Superfrog"? I played that a few years ago on an emulator (and even more years ago on a family friends' Amiga). Classic.

i remember i got flamed for doing a nostalgia thread... hmm...

no matter, i still enjoy playing the classics... system shock 2, Deus Ex, Ultimate Doom, Space invaders...

But there is nothing that compares to pinball. a true experience that cant be emulated.

I still remember the original Sim City. I loved and still love the original Final Fantasy. Those two come to mind.

hmmmmmmm, Classics.

When speaking of classics, one can hardly go around the first Super Mario land for the Game boy, I spent hours and hours on it, and completed the game multiple times, or that old cheeser, Duck Hunt with a light gun... I must have hit countless Ducks as a nipper. well, but before that, I think I played numerous hours on the old MSX me dad had, Castlevania, and countless games I can't even remember, in those days, would you have asked me if I had a PC, I would have asked you if that thing was edible, and what sauce I had to take with it for it to taste good.
