I, Robot - Is It The Same As The Book?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Harlan Ellison wrote a screenplay of "I, Robot." !!!! That screenplay is NOT the one with which the Will Smith movie was made.

Saw it last night-
IT WAS AWESOME! It is an interesting story, 1 man out of billions that hates robots. And the earth's population is half robots. Seriously. Then, there is a 'murder mystery' that everyone in the USR (United States Robotics) thinks is a suicide. The plot unwinds from there. I would definatly see it again

i find that alot of people always think that there is a common man below them and that they are a bit above and the media is better then them but the fact is there are many diferent levls and i peronaly think the media sinks lower then 70% of all people and that there is no common man only a stupid man i have never met someone who has not remarked on how a movie or tv show i mad for the common man and i dont travel in fancy circles
maybe the media is dumber maybe the media mistook our level or maybe there is a coomon level or maybe just maybe people when thy go to the movies they want to relax and not be bothered by the trials of thinking heavy i
personaly feel that way although im not stupid im not 200 IQ any way but when i want smart clever works i read a book (our watch star trek just kidding) dont get me wrong all of these ideas are possible and i think it might be a bit of each and also these people dont care if you like our not so long as your going to see you are going to see it right bye the way i read things it seems you all will at some point like the movie or not they will get your ticket money

Show em my motto

think it through

The "common man" is supposed to be the "average" person; it does not necessarily refer to mediocrity. It is no indictment upon their intelligence, but rather their interests. Ie. the "common man" would prefer a movie about a black guy who shoots up robots, as opposed to a movie which features an exploration of humanity (the book's plot). This is a stereotype of course, but a well-founded one.

you totally misunderstand. it was originally called "I, Robert" and was about the life and times of a man called Bob; which is a funny name for a girl.
