Big Brother UK

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Big Brother UK

Has any been watching this. I've hated all BBUK apart from the first, but this has too be some of the funniest TV i've seen in a long time! They pushed so hard for sex on BB5 and all they have got is fights. Its great. What are everybody else's BB like?

Post Tue Jul 13, 2004 1:29 pm

BB is stupid ......
At least, I think .......

Post Tue Jul 13, 2004 1:32 pm

I have a habit of backing the most hated and geekiest guy on BB, just for the sheer hell of it. Consequentially, I am cheering on Ahmed. I have not stooped as low as watching the program yet through, I'm only reading news reports that continue to pop up on AOL.

it's boring, the people on it are very dull with nothing better to do in their lives. Also they're just glory seekers wanting to become celebrities thats imho

Post Tue Jul 13, 2004 2:02 pm

whats the bloody point? have we gotten so bored for things to watch on tv that we will watch people go about there daily lives like guinea pigs in a lab, or some freakish real life version of the sims?

Post Tue Jul 13, 2004 2:13 pm

The funny thing is none of them will be celebs. I read in the News of the World that one off the BB contestants used to have his own Lamborghini and a £1mil house. After he got out he lost his job and his house and can't actually get employed by anyone because of his exploits. The whole 'reality TV' is becoming excessive. The only person to make anything from this was Jade. Also remember Claire from BB 1 who got the Irish guy a bit excited? She is my cousins boyfriends friends cousin and she became a complete stuck up b**** when she came out the house

you can tell when channel 4 are stretching for stuff to show on their channel when they show Big Brother for 3 hours through the night and all the guys on it are fast asleep. Its possibly the worst show on tv at the moment.

well that goes to show that you've blatantly not been watching it

This year its been superb. And archie, I'm sorry but I disagree. So far they've starved them, taken away their cigarettes, let them discuss nominations, let them scheme, plot and manipulate. They've sworn, mud wrestled, wound each other up, beat the living crap out of each other on several occasions, sucked on each other's t**s and various other sexual escapades. Its been a fantastic year - and every single episode has involved something interesting.

Reality shows are crap I agree. I don't agree with the cheapness of the concept at all. But to say that BB4 has been bad is wrong...because its been anything but.

i wouldnt know, ive not watched it from bb1 and i dont intend to start now.

Post Wed Jul 14, 2004 10:51 am

I loathe the whole culture that means people watch it. Grom - i don't know how you can - i have seen the odd bits (affraid i love an american show called Ed - its on in the mornings, but BB is on just before or whilst i set video (at work when its on), so i get to see bits of "highlights" and so on), and needless to say that every single one of them makes my skin crawl. They are all hideous hideous humans, who are whoring themselves for potential fame. Heck - I haven't really seen enough to be saying what their personalities are like, but they all have massive egos, with their heads stuffed SO far up their own butts that they make me sick!

Heck - its so bad that just reading the title of the thread got my clicking finger straining at the keyboard!!

The whole Big Brother stuff started here in Holland (again).
The first one was fun, because it was new. All new BB projects after that were crap. Sometime they should just stick to one show.
Same goes for Idols, Alien or Police Academy.

@ Chips

Take delight in the fact that they will never 'promote' themselves to 'celeb' status and that there once big egos caused by their current, so called TV stardom will burst once they realise how bad their personalities have come across on TV that no one in there right mind would hire them for anything less than another s*** reality TV show. They are idiots and i feel sorry for them for thinking that they can do better. Like i said in an earlier post, reality TV just damages peoples credibity, especially the competitive and stressful environment that the people are in in BB. Craig Phillips (BB1) has a dodgy DIY show that only his mum watches on one of the many rubbish Sky digital channels and then on channel 4 has the P*** taken out of him on Bo Selecta by Avid Merrion. Do i need to mention Jade...
although in fairness she was the first BB millionare but only due to look a like contests

These guys tho just make me laugh and the first thing i watch when i get in from work is BB. Simply beacuse these very odd people are putting on quite a show.

Chips - I'm with you all the way. I wasn't going to post in this thread because I wasn't sure if I could keep my temper. I have nothing but contempt for those who "star" in such shows and as for those that patronise such shows by watching them, well, I don't want to offend anyone .

Post Thu Jul 15, 2004 1:23 am

@wiz lol. was jesus dutch?

@chips I can't explain what it is...I hate them all too, I loathe them in fact. But there is something I find immensely satisfying about watching a load of people I detest tearing each other to shreds. Maybe its the Roman in me I don't know

Always amuses me that people go in there expecting to come out with a career, when all they're gonna get is extensive coverage of them shopping in "Heat" magazine and unemployment benefit for the next 10 years.

what possible employment could Nadia hope to get? except as a circus freak...
