media tickets

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

media tickets

ok i've had it. it pops up randomly. this window. telling me to install 'media tickets' and says it won't affect my comp in any way - pish.

then there's this virus/worm that norton detects but avg doesn't..

w32.spybot.worm

it started appearing on the same day that i installed spybot.. which is meant to clear out adware and spyware. does it do that? can anyone give me a link to the official spybot dl?

and has anyone else gotten this sort of pop up windows? telling you to install their 'media tickets'?

The creator of Spybot Search & Destroy (full name) was an outfit at KOLLA.DE I see that their website currently is down. If you downloaded it from any other site, you may have had malware included in your download. If you are able to log-on to either PC World or PC Magazine's download sites, you MIGHT be able to effect a cleaner download.

does that mean spybot.worm is brought in via that copy of spybot that i ahve?

@Kimk

Here are the download sites at PC World magazine and the one for the publisher of PC Magazine, Ziff-Davis.

Please note that if you really have a worm, Spybot is not the answer toy our problem, Norton or McAfee antivirus are the better answer.

PC World

PC Mag Publisher Site, - Ziff-Davis - ZD Net

Remember that AV scanners can often ID things such as Ad-Aware and SpyBot as malware, due to the capabilities of the programs in question to edit the registry, etc. I am not saying that this is the case in this particular scenario, but it's something to bear in mind.
