Wow, I post this late at night, and I come back in the morning expecting 2-3 replies. I open the page and see 15! Whoa!
Thanks for your input guys. Many of your comments back up what many of the reviews have said about X2. "Its good, if your willing to take time to learn it, and if you stick with it." The things that made me think about getting it are the graphics, open endedness, and the cockpits. Unlike FL, the cockpits seem to give a good impression that you are in a ship. The cockpits in FL weren't very good. Just a few bars here and there.
I guess I'll stay away from that battlecruiser thing, everyone seems to be afraid of it. The reviews don't say too much about it, and what they do say is pretty bad. I don't know who "he" is, but I guess I'll just leave it at that.
Thanks guys. If you have any other reccomendations for Space Sims out there, let me know. I've already gone through Freespace 2, I-War 2, and of course FL. I'm lookin to see if there are any other good ones.

This not naming the nameless one is beginning to grate like finger nails on a chalk board with me.
I have no idea what you're all going on about and I really don't care to know the name but.... what's the skinny on the why of it?
PS.... I cannot seem to find the game developer's website.

we can't really tell you without giving the game away, but I'll try to give you some sort of "skinny" but even talking about it too much can bring him down upon you.
the BC series of games is the *cough*brainchild*cough* of a rather unpleasant man whose name we cannot divulge here, but who's initials are D.S.<shhhhhhh> Interweb legend has it that if you type his name 3 (or is 5) times in succession he appears and proceeds to destroy your forum. He's unpleasnatly nicknamed "Der Fuhrer" because of his controlling and paranoid attitude, and that while he loves to be the centre of attention, he is surrounded only be faceless and wheedling lackeys. His forums for BC make the Gestapo look liberal. He brooks no criticism of his games no matter how constructive or accurate it may be and not only bans people on whims but proceeds to harangue them by Im and e-mail too, so I'm told. it's really not that good a game, it's ok, in places, but it's not the zenith of gaming that "D.S." has created his own virtual little world for where he is absolute king. Foul man.
if you don't believe me, go and register at the BC forums and take a look, but for god's sake don't mention us, or he'll be over here.
