Some observations about gaming

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I do miss those kitty cats, esp the scene where they are in the Kirath home world and they have those captued folk that they waste. Good acting at the time.

"those captued folk"

you mean Jeanette "Angel" Devereaux..

I never really got how, if she was supposed to be the love of Blair's life, and the motivation for his continued fight against the Kilrathi, he then gets not only another bit of totty but has two sniffing at his keks, Flint and his grease-monkey porn-star! it was enertaining the first couple of times but then i canned the whole romance bit, it really was a distraction from the game action.

and of course you were never really meant to get it on with Flint, as if you chose her you then got suckered into leaving her behind on the Temblor bomb mission, she'd blow you out anyway and you'd end up with nish as Ginger-Lynn would then blow you out. besides Ginger looked better going down in the shuttle TO THE PLANET'S SURFACE (christ i left that one wide open, oops done it again)

so glad they kicked all the romance stuff out of WC4 and Prophecy.

Here's a couple

No matter how complicated a button-press sequence is, the computer can always pull it off.

You can be in first place for the entire race, only to come in sixth because of some last-second cheap-shot blue turtle shell.

The cops can shoot you as many times as they want, but if you accidently hit them twice you're duck soup.

Designers will always make up for lousy AI with loaded dice.

Work your butt off, risking life and limb for the princess, and all you get is a "delicious cake", and that's only if you got all 120 stars.

You live by the axiom, "save early, and save often," just to find that your save file, and the auto-save have become corrupted right before you clear the game.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

"Grease-monkey porn-star"? What are you on about Taw? Is your "porn star" remark metaphorical in some way?

in WC3, the techie crew-chief named Rachel Coriolis, who's half of Blair's love interest, was played by Ginger-Lynn Allen, former hardcore porno star. Next you'll be saying you don't who Sylvia Saint or Jenna Jameson are.

if you spurn Ginger's advances in WC3, she gets all p*ssy and won't load out your ship. Like I ever let her after the forst time? her loadouts were crap, the dozy bint.

She came back for Prophecy, but didn't have as big a part (that's cos EA/Origin cut loads of FMV out of WC)

I know, what was up with that? She got all mad because you didn't go with what she put on your ship. It was fine with me because the default loadout was always crummy. On WC3 I always got ImageRec and dumbfires. On WC4 there was data for you to look at on how much damage a missile did. I usually only got dumb fires because they caused a lot of damage and they had no lock-on time. I think a dumb fire was 800 du and a torpedo was 2000 du, so you could do more damage with 3 dumb fires than with one torpedo.

On Starlancer I always loaded up on those screamers because I liked being able to shoot so many of them. I usually got one fuel pod, and maybe one jackhammer or two if the mission needed them.

On freelancer I never buy missiles.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

ah, I reckon the whole point of that, Ug, was to let us gawp at Ginger for a while.

I almost nalways took d'fires too, if I was on a capship mission, maybe a torpedo if I was in a T'bolt or a dedicated torp bomber, i couldn't keep hanging around waiting for tone when I had Strakhas decloaking all around me and Vaktoths knocking seven shades of sh*t out of me.

I didn't know that about "Rachel". Interesting. I wonder when she moved into that "other" industry? Before or after she was in WC3 and 5?

Note: I have heard of "Jenna" (I think). Wasn't she the one who was up against Arnie in the Californian election?

Esq, it was well before WC3, Ging jacked porno in at the end of the 80s I think, iirc she found Jesus.

Heltak, strangely I didn't find that mission the hardest in FS2, but "Love the Treason" took me weeks to complete satisfactorily. Also the one where you have to take out the beam weapons on the Sathanas, that took me a while..

Oh yes that brings back bad memories too but I was pretty accurate at torp runs so I got 3/4 barely
