Do my eyes decive me?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Do my eyes decive me?

Or is this real after all? i mean who would need that many shots?

storage goes up in leaps and bounds. a couple of years ago you'd have paid the same money for fraction of that capacity.

for my next question, im changing cameras to the nikon coolpix 2200, these are the stats:

Key features
1. Compact size and lightweight body with easy to hold grip design
2. High image quality with 2.0 Effective Megapixels and 3x optical Zoom-Nikkor lens
3. 5 Colour Options including standard, vivid, black-and-white, sepia and cyanotype colors.
4. 15 pre-set Scene Modes including 4 with Scene Assistance function offer more flexibility and point-and-shoot simplicity
5. 14.5MB internal memory offers always ready picture-storage and fast two-way copying of stored images
6. Compatible with various types of rechargeable and disposable batteries

and compare it to my regular camera: kodak easyshare cx6200:

2 mega pixels x3 digital zoom and x3 colour modes: colour, sepia and black and white, and 8mb internal memory.

question is, after the nikon and i have the money for something beefier, what do i buy?

Go on a long trip and only shoot in RAW format, you could get close to filling up 2GB worth.

EDIT: After you've had enough of your Nikon P&S camera and you're still pretty serious about photography you should really be looking at a baseline SLR 35mm or Digital (the latter being a lot more expensive). It'll give you the freedom to manually set your shot up rather than relying on auto everything, which can turn a potentially great shot into a decidedly crap one.

It's early days yet. 2GB is just the tip of the iceberg as they say. Still, as they say, the more memory the merrier!

i'd prefer a digital camera, no messing about with rolls of film.

Why don't you ask for a few opinions at the forums at Digital Photography Review. These guys take some fookin amazing shots, mostly pro's and some bloody good amatures. They would be more than well equipped to answer any of your queries.

Thye also post there own work up there to give you some composition ideas, eg this amazing shot by Michael Kempf. Almost looks fake it's so good.

My question is why does the page say 2gigs, but the card say 1gig?

But I guess it's for people who never want to change memory cards.

Beware the cards though. Our work camera that we use for pics of apartments for reports, the card has now been coruupted and it is only 6 months old. It is a Kodak camera and the card is 32mb, it will hold some pics, but will transfer none and when you go back to view them on the camera, some are missing. Its own mem holds them and transfers ok. I would not want to sink that kind of money in a card that could fail in 6 months time.
